Today's extra furlong should suit and he is fancied to go one better. In These Shoes chased home a subsequent winner on her debut, also over 6f at Carlisle, and she is a serious threat, while Tabaretta, Royal Rhyme and Devil's Kingdom add further spice to the race.

She has posted two solid efforts since joining Rebecca Menzies' team and the handicapper looks to have been kind to her, dropping her 1lb for a placed effort at Southwell last time. Hard Solution wasn't beaten far at Wolverhampton latest and is respected, as are Bomb Squad and Mops Gem.

Muddy Lynn heads the remainder, although recent wind surgery could see Lory to greater effect.

DEPUTY was far from disgraced in a 0-80 handicap on his latest outing, an effort which he was dropped 1lb for. Michael Dods' charge now competes from his last winning mark and he's taken to regain the winning thread as he's eased in class. Zumurud was perhaps stretched by 1m2f at Beverley last month and he looks set to appreciate the return to shorter, while Tangled, who bumped into an improver last time out, should also make his presence felt.

NORTHBOUND seldom runs a poor race at this venue and he belatedly got back to winning ways at Newcastle last month. He disappointed over the same C&D on his latest outing, but he remains well treated back on turf and receives a tentative vote in an open contest. Langholm and Proud Archi are entitled to be in the shake-up, while Dandys Gold has been in fine fettle of late and is also on the shortlist.
