This looks a great opportunity for HAVANA BY THE SEA to get her head in front. She looked a filly that needed the experience when fourth on debut at Thirsk and took a big step forward to finish fifth in a valuable sales race at York last month. That looks good form and the winner Shouldvebeenaring has followed up in Listed company since. Even the ninth Secret Angel and fourteenth Nibras Rainbow have both won races next time out so it definitely has plenty of substance. She can improve again and I make her tough to oppose here. Chattel Village was only beaten a length on debut and built on that to go close at Musselburgh but hasn’t been seen since. If he has improved then he could enter calculations but I suspect he will need more to trouble the selection who also has race fitness on side as well.

Muhaarar colt CANCAN IN THE RAIN has improved with every run. He made a really encouraging start sent off at odds of 50/1 when sixth behind Mill Stream at Doncaster. That maiden has worked out well since with the likes of Endeared, Treble Glory and Zaman Jemil in front of him. He found things happening too quickly at Southwell but again wasn’t disgraced doing some good late work. He improved a chunk to make the breakthrough up to 7f here last time and took that up a furlong from home so dropping back to 6f here shouldn’t inconvenience now. The fifth King Of Ithaca won at Chelmsford next time out to frank the form so an opening mark of 78 may well prove lenient now handicapping. Delirious Dream was all out to hold on at Catterick but still looks the danger with Benoit de la Sayette claiming 3lb.
