Gherkin may prove the chief threat given he has a similar profile but he hasn't experienced the course before which might be enough to separate them. Wiley Post looks best of the rest on form, but any further rain would be a concern for the nine-year-old.

Unless the market speaks positively surrounding the chances of newcomer Lucky Fifteen, this race looks a match on paper and LOCAL DYNASTY just edges it despite having to concede weight all round. His fifth in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York sets a high standard and he should prove tough to beat in these calmer waters. Sir Laurence Graff looks the obvious danger after a good second at Goodwood and he has less questions to answer if conditions were to deteriorate, so he shouldn't be taken lightly. Elwasme put in a fair performance on debut and is open to improvement on this just his second start.

With so many unraced colts making their racecourse debut, the market will no doubt prove informative. Lahab sets the standard after two solid efforts at Newbury and York, but he may have to play second fiddle to the well bred STRIKING STAR, who represents a leading stable in the in-form Charlie Appleby. Both his sire and dam shed their maiden tags at the first attempt and he may be able continue that trend here. Sea Squared may be able to put his experience to good use and run better than his forecast price suggests.

BAYSIDE BOY attempts to bounce back from a slightly underwhelming effort at Goodwood in July and it is hoped the application of first-time blinkers can sharpen him up in his bid for a first victory since landing the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster 12 months ago. Escobar appears to be as good as ever at the moment, with his recent third at Goodwood boosted by the winner scoring again at Leopardstown on Saturday, and he commands respect. Sinjaari, who won a C&D handicap earlier in the season, also merits consideration.

I'LL BE THERE got off the mark at the third attempt at Goodwood in June and the manner of that performance suggested she could have more to offer with her attentions now switched to handicap company. New Heights won here at the end of July and is likely to appreciate a stiffer test at this distance compared to her latest second at Goodwood, while Rose Barton and Tango Tonight complete the shortlist.

The progressive Phantasy Mac looks set to go well as she bids to record a fifth success from her last six starts, but a chance is taken on SAVROLA. The son of Churchill bumped into a major improver at Newmarket last month and he could prove well treated from a mark of 77. Lady Shotgun produced a consistent level of form over three qualifying runs and merits consideration on her handicap bow, while Later Darling won't be fazed by easing ground conditions and can't be ruled out either.

RIKONA dead-heated for top honours on her first start for Kevin Philappart De Foy at Ffos Las and, with William Buick in the saddle today, she holds every chance of following up. Miss Bluebelle defied market weakness to strike on her handicap debut at Chelmsford last month and she features prominently in calculations here, while Meleri, who drops in class slightly, is another to note.
