They command respect along with Sea Eagle, who finished fourth on debut at Goodwood, and Lord Of Biscay.

MISE EN SCENE caught the eye when staying on well into sixth in the Atalanta at Sandown and the step up in trip is likely to bring about further improvement, especially with the dam's side of her pedigree offering plenty of hope in that regard. Ville De Grace has the ability to be very competitive provided the four-year-old enters the stalls. If she doesn't consent to start, the main threats may prove to be Shaara, who was a comfortable winner at Nottingham last time, and Ching Shih.

LATTAM looks a horse to follow after two victories in novice company and his opening mark of 89 might underestimate him. The form of his last success has been boosted by the second and third both winning since and this son of Lope De Vega is entitled to improve further now stepping up in trip once more. Adjourn looked a progressive three-year-old prior to his latest defeat and he might prove the biggest threat if bouncing back now that he's dropped in distance. Mr Professor returned to form when encountering some ease in the ground at Thirsk 11 days ago and any further rain would enhance his chances here.

This looks likely to be a match between last-time-out winners X J RASCAL and Star Player, with preference for the former. The son of Kodiac has improved with each run in handicap company so far and the step up to 1m last time saw a career-best performance. A 6lb penalty for that Doncaster victory shouldn't prevent a bold follow-up bid here and he looks the one to beat. Star Player gained a breakthrough success last time and is sure to win more races, but he might have to play second fiddle in today's contest. Twilight Guest was also engaged to run here on Tuesday and looks up against it.

CANCAN IN THE RAIN scored decisively over 7f at this venue last month and an opening mark of 78 could be well within range. He will need to prove himself over this shorter trip, however, with recent Catterick winner Delirious Dream perhaps best equipped to take advantage if the selection fails to fire. Liberation Bay takes a significant drop in class and must be feared.
