PASPALEY did all his best work in the closing stages when third on debut at Newcastle and the son of Brazen Beau warrants plenty of respect making his first appearance on turf. Trilby boasts a speedy pedigree and represents a stable which does particularly well with their juveniles, while Skysail was runner-up on his debut at Windsor and the son of Tasleet completes the shortlist.

Crystallium and Wyoming both made winning starts to their careers and the pair have to to enter calculations. Any market support for Elegancia should be noted, with the yard boasting a fine record in this contest, but the vote goes to PEONY. Ed Walker's youngster was a promising second on her debut at Salisbury, when faring best of the newcomers, and the daughter of Churchill is expected to step forward from that display.

It's difficult to rule out any of these, so the tentative vote goes to STRAWBERRY BELLE. Patrick Owens' charge finished a good fourth over 6f at Newmarket last month, running on well inside the final furlong. That effort suggested this step up in trip should suit and she's fancied to open her account. The Parent delivered on his earlier promise when successful over 1m at Goodwood last time out and he's a likely player providing he's as effective at this shorter distance. Metahorse shouldn't be underestimated either.

HIGHBANK bolted up at Newmarket on his racecourse debut and, under similar conditions, the son of Kingman is difficult to oppose. That form looks particularly strong, with both the runner-up and third scoring since. Classic ought to provide a stern challenge following his recent success, although he'll need to take another step forward. Stormbuster sets the standard with an official rating of 92 and can't be discounted either.

This can go the way of SACRED. William Haggas' four-year-old was withdrawn from her intended run in the Park Stakes at Doncaster on account of the easing ground conditions, but this should be more suitable and, having been competitive at the highest level this year, she can strike down in class. Jumby won the Hungerford over C&D last month and demands the utmost respect back here, while Superior Mile runner-up Tacarib Bay is another to consider.

Sam Cooke should prove popular once more and is respected after his win at Newmarket last month, but he might find this drop in trip against him. MAHRAJAAN found himself too far back at York last time and he should find this smaller field easier to navigate. The son of Kitten's Joy has proved expensive to follow this season, but he's not given up on yet. Knight Of Honour needs to put an underwhelming performance at Sandown last month behind him.

A few to consider, but ASCENDING could be worth taking a chance on. A winner at Goodwood in June on softer going, he found 1m an inadequate test next time at Sandown on quicker ground, but he still performed with credit and there could be more to come. Fellow three-year-old Vee Sight has been running well and he rates the chief threat now dropped in grade. Secret Box was somewhat underwhelming on his belated return at Sandown last month, but it is still early days for this four-year-old.
