SISKANY makes his first appearance since February when third at the Saudi Cup meeting at Riyadh and the four-year-old could have more to offer on his return to the UK. Dubai Future finished third in a Group 2 at York in July and the drop in class is likely to see him enter the reckoning, while Solid Stone, who returns to turf, and Lysander are both capable of being in the mix.

MANACCAN has progressed through the ranks and achieved his finest hour to date when taking a Listed prize at Doncaster last Wednesday. He returns to Group company for the first time since finishing fourth in the Cornwallis at Newmarket last October and John Ryan's colt has plenty in his favour. Mitbaahy ran no sort of race at Goodwood when last seen but is worth forgiving that performance. The Clive Cox pair, Tis Marvellous and Diligent Harry, appear best of the remainder, with the former having returned to winning ways in the Beverley Bullet last time.

Sakheer built on his racecourse bow when bolting up at Haydock on his most recent run, but SHOULDVEBEENARING kept on strongly to score in Listed territory on his latest outing over this trip at Ripon and is preferred. Richard Hannon's impressive colt is now three from four and looks set to add to his winning tally stepping up in grade. Charyn is another to note having just been denied by a neck at Newmarket last month.

OTTOMAN FLEET drops significantly in grade following a disappointing fourth in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes, but he previously scored in Listed company at Newmarket over this trip. A drop back to 1m2f following his latest showing looks set to suit, and he is capable of giving a good account. Warren Point kept on strongly to beat Blue Trail on his most recent outing at Goodwood and is feared, along with the hat-trick seeking Hamaki.

In a field dominated by unraced juveniles, a chance can be taken with the Sir Michael Stoute-trained FOX JOURNEY. His dam is closely related to some very smart types, including three-time Group 1 winner Alexandrova, and he looks set to give a good account on debut. Palamon recorded a good second on his racecourse bow and is feared, along with Silvretta, given her dam made a winning start to her racing career.

With three course wins to his name, including last year's renewal of this race, Frontispiece has a lot going for him. He's just 2lb higher in the handicap for his repeat bid and is likely to be thereabouts. Another to bear in mind is Tartan Chief, who has improved since being stepped up in trip. It's interesting to note that he's set to run with the aid of a tongue-tie in what will be his first attempt over 1m4f. He might well improve further over the additional yardage. However, preference is for MILLE MIGLIA after her gutsy performance at Haydock at the start of this month. With just a 2lb nudge up the official ratings, Clive Cox's filly has room to manoeuvre and, with the predicted drying ground very much in her favour, she ticks the right boxes for selection.

The size of the field dictates that luck in running will play a part, but ASCOT ADVENTURE has experience of these cavalry charges and he is worth another chance now he's eased in grade. He's ideally suited to this intermediate trip and is handily placed to attack with a draw near the stands rail. Lyndon B doesn't have much to find with selection judging by their encounter at Goodwood three weeks ago. He too merits serious consideration, but will need others to set the tempo from his side of the draw. Marshal Dan is a prime candidate to do just that and he could be a threat to them all after a return to form on the all-weather at Newcastle last month. Diamond Ranger and Rainbow Fire are unexposed and also worth checks in the betting market.
