15:00 Hamilton

Back in handicap company CALETA SUNRISE looks to have a great chance of making the breakthrough at Hamilton on Sunday. She was only beaten a length at Catterick last time and her last run on turf in a handicap saw her go down a couple of lengths into second at Ayr over this trip. She is coming to the boil now and won’t need to find much more improvement to get off the mark. I think they’ll be a bit more patient with her here as there is potential for a lot of pace on with the likes of Baileys Liberty and Clarets Glory pushing forward. She should be in the box seat to pounce though just tucked in off the speed. The danger looks to be last time out winner Gentle Ellen who did well to win at Ayr last time showing a good attitude and a similar performance wouldn’t see her far away again. C&D winner Matty Too could be best of the rest.

I know Sergeant is in great form but he is up another 4lb and in a better race here and his sole run at the track saw him turned over at odds-on which has to be concerning. I’m going to oppose and I think THIBAULT might be worth chancing despite not showing a great deal on the Flat at Epsom when last seen. His run before that was good finishing second and he was an impressive winner over hurdles at this track back in May. He is 6lb higher but if he bounces back I think he is the one to beat given the way he ran on that day. The danger could be See The Sea who would obviously be a threat to all if granted a soft lead but I’m hoping Glimpse Of Gold keeps her company to some extent. Just The Man is capable but doesn’t always find much in a finish but you couldn’t rule him out finishing second to the selection in current form.
