HAPPY D'EX is extremely difficult to get away from in the opener. Gordon Elliott's charge has to give her three rivals 7lb for winning at Downpatrick last month but the point-to-point/bumper winner was very impressive that day and should have more to offer. Lady Stanwix is also a point scorer and she rates the biggest threat on her hurdling debut following a smooth bumper triumph at Market Rasen. Stable companions Solway Molly and Solway Primrose are expected to struggle.
Prediction : 1st Happy Dex 2nd Lady Stanwix 3rd Solway Molly

Three of the five going to post boast winning C&D form, including last-start winners City Derby and Spark Of Madness. Both are respected, as is Sword Of Fate, but this could go the way of TICO TIMES. Dianne Sayer has this gelding in good form and, a close-up second at Kelso just last week, the decision to turn him out again quickly suggests he's come out of that race well.
Prediction : 1st Tico Times 2nd City Derby 3rd Spark Of Madness

DALLAS DES PICTONS is a two-time distance scorer and makes plenty of appeal in this handicap despite the burden of top weight. Having his first run for Dianne Sayer since leaving the powerful Gordon Elliott yard, the son of Spanish Moon is coming in here on the back of beating a 154-rated rival off level weights at Cork. Expect another bold front-running display and he can go in again at the expense of Giovanni Change and Teescomponents Lad.
Prediction : 1st Dallas Des Pictons 2nd Giovanni Change 3rd Teescomponents Lad

The revitalised Jerrysback has shot up 17lb for winning successive handicaps during the summer and may now be worth taking on under top weight. Dual course winner Golden Taipan is a viable alternative, but preference is for Gordon Elliott's progressive QUANTUM REALM, who appeared to be crying out for this longer trip when narrowly failing to clinch a hat-trick over 2m4f here last month.
Prediction : 1st Quantum Realm 2nd Jerrysback 3rd Golden Taipan

It may be worth sticking with IDILICO, who bounced back to form when scoring over C&D in good style last month. He was a shade underwhelming on the Flat at Musselburgh subsequently but the easy surface here is no issue and a 6lb rise may not be enough to anchor him back over timber. Battle Of Toro may prove most troublesome after finding improvement when second at Cartmel last month, though C&D winner Big Bad Bear is better than he showed at Hexham last time.
Prediction : 1st Idilico 2nd Battle Of Toro 3rd Big Bad Bear

After his victory at Hexham a fortnight ago, GOING MOBILE looks by far the most solid option here if in anything like that form. It's unlikely a 4lb rise will be enough to stop Sam England's seven-year-old. The opposition don't look the most reliable, but the biggest danger could be Golden Chancer on his return to chasing. Budarri looks very well handicapped on some of his form and, if he's been freshened up by a break, he could fare best of the rest.
Prediction : 1st Going Mobile 2nd Golden Chancer 3rd Budarri

RUBYTWO has performed well fresh in the past and, if she's ready to go after five months off, Nicky Richards' mare looks the one to side with off a mark she's more than capable of winning off. Calliope has been in good form of late and she could go well with Brian Hughes back in the saddle, while Navegaon Gate is open to any amount of improvement and, with his powerful yard in excellent form, he can't be ruled out.
Prediction : 1st Rubytwo 2nd Calliope 3rd Navegaon Gate
