It’s still early days for DAIQUIRI and while he disappointed again at Chelmsford last time he didn’t go unbacked and I get the impression they think he is capable of better yet. His win at Doncaster back in June really was quite taking and I can see him bouncing back. The handicapper has dropped him a couple of pounds and if they can keep a lid on him in the prelims he may well run a lot better than his odds are suggesting. I do think he is all about stamina so I see no issue with the trip and with pace assured by the likes of Wilderness and Al Azhar this could pan out perfectly. Songo is my idea of the danger. He won over C&D earlier in the summer and if you put a line through that run at Doncaster last month he has decent claims. King’s Castle is another one that catches the eye as he was by no means disgraced when fifth at Epsom on debut for this yard and might have more to offer yet.
