Oddschecker tips for every race at Ascot on Saturday.
In what promises to be a competitive Listed contest, preference is for the Andrew Balding-trained KING'S LYNN, who arrives following a creditable effort in the Group 1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes at this track in June. He drops both in trip and grade for this contest and, given he kept on well to score in the Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock in May, he looks more than capable of a bold showing. Manaccan was just denied at Newbury last month and is feared most ahead of Ebro River.Prediction : 1st Kings Lynn 2nd Manaccan 3rd Ebro River
Candleford has failed to progress following an impressive win in handicap company at this track in June, so it is easier to side with stablemate HAMISH, who arrives in this having finished a very creditable second behind Kyprios in the Irish St Leger at the Curragh last month. He can improve down in grade, but Cresta bolted up in Listed company at Windsor in August and seems his biggest danger. Third Realm is another not to be underestimated.Prediction : 1st Hamish 2nd Cresta 3rd Third Realm
Commanche Falls finished a very good second in the Ayr Gold Cup last month and he could turn form around with Summerghand, given the pair now race off level weights. However, preference is for the Hugo Palmer-trained FLAMING RIB, who drops in grade following a respectable fourth at Haydock last month. His latest effort over this C&D, in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup, saw him fill the runner-up spot behind the classy Perfect Power, so he warrants a lot of respect. Gale Force Maya is another not to ignore.Prediction : 1st Flaming Rib 2nd Commanche Falls 3rd Gale Force Maya
There really wasn't much between Fresh and SILENT FILM when first and second over C&D last time and a small pull in the weights might be enough to see the Godolphin runner get his revenge, with Harry Davies once again taking off a very valuable 3lb. Asjad has an excellent record on anything slower than good, so, if the rain arrives, he'd be one to consider too. Blue For You, following his narrow victory in the Clipper Logistics at York last time out, is another to note.Prediction : 1st Silent Film 2nd Fresh 3rd Blue For You
PRIMO BACIO seemingly relished the drop in class when second in Listed company at York over 6f last month, and this return to 7f should see her go close. Romantic Rival put up a big performance when third in Group 3 company last time and, if she can back that up, she'd be a danger to all, while Honey Sweet does look more exposed than most but, at this level, she's more than capable of making the frame.Prediction : 1st Primo Bacio 2nd Romantic Rival 3rd Honey Sweet
While a 10lb rise in the weights clearly makes things tougher, it's hard to look past EQUALITY in his current form and, if he's able to put up a similar performance to when blitzing a competitive field at Haydock last weekend, he could be extremely tough to beat once again. Magical Spirit could go well at a price, if wind surgery helps him bounce back to form, while Tarhib is still open to plenty of improvement.Prediction : 1st Equality 2nd Magical Spirit 3rd Tarhib
