It looked a decent race that ARARAT finished second in on debut at Yarmouth last month and, with that experience under his belt, he should be able to get off the mark at the second time of asking. Sir Jock Bennett put up a career-best effort when third at Haydock last time and, if progressing again, he's one to take very seriously. Tipp Town looked as if he'd benefit from the experience when fifth at Ayr last month.
Prediction : 1st Ararat 2nd Sir Jock Bennett 3rd Tipp Town

Plenty with chances, but HA LONG BAY is back down to his last winning mark and that victory did come at this course, so a chance is taken on Adrian Keatley's three-year-old to return to winning ways. The biggest danger could be Beryl Burton, if building on her victory at Chepstow in July, while a 4lb rise might not stop Tele Red following his win at Beverley last time out.
Prediction : 1st Ha Long Bay 2nd Beryl Burton 3rd Tele Red

I'M A GAMBLER is favourably treated at the weights here and, if in the same form as when winning a competitive handicap at Leopardstown last month, he could prove extremely tough to beat. Dubai Poet is still seemingly improving and his second in the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes two starts ago probably sets the standard, so he's entitled to maximum respect, while Almohandesah is another to keep a close eye on.
Prediction : 1st Im A Gambler 2nd Dubai Poet 3rd Almohandesah

The likes of Maylandsea, Barefoot Angel and Lady Bullet are all bright prospects and can boost their profiles no end with a bold show. Cold Case, who holds an entry for neat year's Irish 2,000 Guineas, sets a high standard on the official ratings and is a strong candidate to become the first Karl Burke-trained winner of this race. However, there is also likely to be more to come from JUMBEAU and, given the way that the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot has worked out since, Tom Clover's filly looks worth chancing. The yard has been back amongst the winners in the last fortnight, which goes a little way to ease any doubts about the selection's absence since June.
Prediction : 1st Jumbeau 2nd Cold Case 3rd Maylandsea

A few of these have encountered each other en route to this series finale and there can be little doubt that Diamondonthehill has already been a thorn in the side to most of the main contenders. However, he's crept up to a career-high mark after two C&D wins and is worth taking on. Preference is for GIVE IT SOME TEDDY, who has been given a chance by the handicapper after a couple of below-par runs on surfaces that may have been firmer than he truly appreciates. Assuming the predicted rain arrives, he'll have conditions to suit. Copper And Five was third in this race last year and is another to consider.
Prediction : 1st Give It Some Teddy 2nd Diamondonthehill 3rd Copper And Five

IRISH APPROACH is thrown in at the deep end for his debut run in handicap company but he's shaping up nicely and, with course experience already to draw upon, he could yet prove to be ahead of his mark. My Little Queens has to give 2lb to the selection but is capable of finishing thereabouts. Richard Fahey's filly is rated as the main danger. The form of Berry Edge's latest start took a knock at Newcastle on Wednesday night, so the unexposed Skye Breeze is nominated as a more appealing option.
Prediction : 1st Irish Approach 2nd My Little Queens 3rd Skye Breeze

CARRIGILLIHY sets the standard based on his win over 1m4f at Pontefract a couple of weeks ago and a 2lb rise for that victory appears to be fair. Zimmerman is another recent winner who is likely to go well this afternoon, while Billy No Mates edges out Sea Speedwell and Magna Moralia to be the pick of the remaining field.
Prediction : 1st Carrigillihy 2nd Zimmerman 3rd Billy No Mates

In an open event, the marginal preference is for FAST RESPONSE, who was only narrowly denied off this mark in a valuable event at York a month ago. Albegone has been running well in defeat of late and he should not be underestimated in a race of this nature. Ey Up It's Maggie is another with strong form claims, while Swayze and Phinow complete the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Fast Response 2nd Albegone 3rd Ey Up Its Maggie
