COVENT GARDEN is a brother to five winners including very smart types like Johannes Vermeer and Wembley and hopefully he can progress with two outings under his belt. The son of Galileo was far from disgraced on debut at the Curragh and had Newport well behind when beating all bar Mister Mister also over a mile on soft ground at Gowran a fortnight ago. Mount King comes here with a very similar profile and filled the runner-up spot behind Starry Heavens at the Curragh last weekend. San Antonio is a newcomer of obvious interest being by Dubawi out of a Galileo mare who finished second to Enable in the Irish Oaks.

The Michael Halford yard signalled a return to form with a double at Dundalk last week and INCHTURK is an interesting runner here. The selection has only raced with cut in the ground and opened his account at the fourth attempt in a mile maiden at Gowran in May. He's been absent since and presumably an autumn campaign is the plan with ground conditions now in his favour on handicap debut. Only For Me is another three-year-old tackling handicap company for the first time after beating all bar The Lute Player on soft ground at Gowran a fortnight ago. Mister Wilson, Loingseoir, Sirjack Thomas, Onlyhuman and Quizical are also all proven on soft ground.

CURRENT OPTION won this race two years ago and has continued to prove a tremendous servant to connections landing the valuable Ahonoora Handicap at the Galway Festival for the third successive year this summer. He holds Markaz Paname on running behind I'm A Gambler at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend and is very effective on soft ground. Joseph O'Brien mounts a strong dual challenge with the mud lover Snapraeterea and Statement. The latter dictated matters from the front to land the Listed Navigation Stakes at Cork on Tuesday. Belle Image is another well suited by soft ground and wasn't beaten far on a number of occasions in Group 1 company last year.

BRAZIL impressed on soft ground at Naas earlier this year before landing the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham and was placed at Grade 1 level in Aintree. The brother to Irish Derby winner Capri makes his seasonal debut after connections decided against carrying topweight in the Lartigue Handicap Hurdle at Listowel. This looks a strong Grade 3 with Champ Kiely an obvious threat. The Limerick bumper winner made a huge impression on his hurdling debut at the Galway Festival when taking a 2m5f maiden in runaway fashion. The form has worked out very well since while stablemate Hubrisko can't be lightly discounted having also won easily at Galway last month. The Friday Man has scored three times over hurdles on varying ground conditions but has a stiff task giving away weight, while easy Killarney winner Marvel De Cerisy is another to consider.

JASON THE MILITANT is well treated by the conditions and any further rain will boost his chance. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding hasn't raced over hurdles since finishing third to Saldier, trying to give the winner 7lb, in this race 12 months ago. He subsequently won a Listed race on the Flat at Naas and, in a light campaign this year, perhaps found the trip too far last time behind Kyprios in the Irish St Leger. Abacadabras is a three-time winner at Grade 1 level including the Aintree Hurdle last year when defeating Buzz. However, he's been absent since upped to three miles at Leopardstown last Christmas and has to give the selection 11lb. Anna Bunina, a four-time winner this year, and Galway Hurdle runner-up Jesse Evans are both admirable dual-purpose performers.

BIG ISLAND landed some nice bets in a 20-runner handicap over this trip at Galway last month and could follow up off his revised mark. The Canford Cliffs gelding also appreciated soft ground when gaining both wins on the Flat for Johnny Feane. John Cannon also comes here off the back of a win after taking advantage of a good opportunity in a Listowel maiden. Mount Brown progressed nicely earlier this year winning a Wexford maiden on testing ground and could still be on a competitive mark having shaped well last time in a big field handicap at the Punchestown Festival. Cottie reverts back from fences and is another for the shortlist.

AUTHORIZED ART has taken well to fences and gets the vote to complete a hat-trick. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding made all at Limerick and again jumped well from the front over a similar trip at Killarney last time. Ash Tree Meadow has also enjoyed the switch to fences this term winning three times. He scored twice at Perth before making all at Killarney and ran a cracker last time in the Galway Plate, only weakening on the run-in when fourth to Hewick. Max Flamingo also has experience in a big field handicap when beaten less than ten lengths behind Lord Lariat in the Irish Grand National. He needs to bounce back after jumping poorly at Ballinrobe last time.

I AM SHADOW hails from a family that the yard has enjoyed plenty of success with in the past including Listed winner Dawn Shadow, and the daughter of Getaway is progressing with each run. She beat all bar the useful Carrigmoorna Queen at the Galway Festival and had Della Casa Lunga close behind when a creditable fifth at Ballinrobe last time. Kalahari Diamond was well backed when fourth at Listowel recently while it will be very interesting to see how strong Coole Cherry and Bellachamps are in the market. The former is a half-sister to four winners including Midlands National winner Na Trachtalai Abu, while the Gordon Elliott-trained Bellachamps is a half-sister to Northern Belle who won a bumper on debut for Willie Mullins.
