I was a bit disappointed with QOYA at Catterick last time but perhaps the track wasn’t ideal or it may have come a bit too soon following that Haydock run. Either way it was her first crack over a trip this far and she was only actually beaten 3 and three-quarter lengths at the line. This daughter of Almanzor remains open to further improvement on what is just her sixth start in a handicap and the best should be yet to come as her stamina is drawn out. She is off the same mark and I’m anticipating a much better performance. It might be a small field but there is potential for both Night Sparkle and Auntie Margaret to push forward so there should be a decent pace to run down. I know Cappoquin has a tendency to finish second but I think she might be the main danger again having gone so close at Newcastle last time.

Frankel filly KENSINGTON showed more than enough on debut to be of serious interest here. The winner Believe In Stars looks a nice colt for Sir Michael Stoute and the second Deferred also has a fair bit of potential for Roger Varian. She was held up that day but once she saw daylight she picked up quite well and was staying on at the finish. She goes up a furlong in trip here which will help and given she is likely to be a lot more streetwise now I think we’ll see a more polished performance. One Evening shaped with promise when fourth on debut at Doncaster and could emerge as the main danger. She is by Galileo so going up in trip will help and she looks to have a bright future as well. Sea Gifted was turned over at short odds at Hamilton last time but is likely better than what she showed that day so also considered.
