Leg 1 Selections: Summer Moon
SUMMER MOON hasn’t been seen in nearly two years, but he was the best of these on Flat, in which he was rated 104 when last spotted, given he finished runner-up in the Cesarewitch Handicap at Newmarket. He was sold at an expensive cost to Dr Richard Newland since, who’d been in the doldrums until Shetland Bus won nicely at Stratford a couple of days ago, and this talented six-year-old should be fully prepared for today’s assignment. On assumption he’s not rusty, he could have too much natural class for these on his hurdles debut.

Leg 2 Selections: Baron De Midleton, Joie De Vivre
BARON DE MIDLETON has a good record at this course with figures reading 1223, with the win coming over track and trip. Brian Ellison’s charge really consistent and looks well-treated back over hurdles. Even though he’s not been seen for a while, he has the ability to go well off top-weight in this race. JOIE DE VIVRE won this race twelve months ago off this exact mark and she arrives here in really good form having run well on the Flat of late. She should make a bold bid to defend her crown.

Leg 3 Selections: Atomic Angel, Minella Voucher
ATOMIC ANGEL held her form well over fences since winning twice, including at this course, and she makes her chase debut off a really nice mark. Being from the same family as the classy Flagship Uberalles and Viking Flagship, she’s bred to have a good future over fences, so she could be up to making a winning chase debut at a course she’s won at before. MINELLA VOUCHER has won his last three starts and given he escapes a penalty for his latest success, he has a good chance to complete the four-timer.

Leg 4 Selections: Tico Times
I really fancy TICO TIMES to add another win to his impressive record this year. He seems better than ever of late and made it three wins from his last five starts when dominating a small-field at Perth from the front two weeks ago. He’s gone back up four pounds but went close on his last visit here and looks an even better horse nowadays. Under another attacking ride from the front, he can win again at the main expense of Bempton Cliffs, who was disappointing at Bangor when last spotted.

Leg 5 Selections: Lady Stanwix
LADY STANWIX won very nicely on her first start for this stable in a bumper back in July and made a solid start to her hurdles career when second to an odds-on favourite ar Perth. For a hurdling debutant, she jumped really well and travelled beautifully throughout (better than the eventual winner), so that experience will have done her the world of good and she’s strongly fancied to go one better here. Reve De Niamh is one to monitor closely in the betting on hurdles debut.

Leg 6 Selections: Malangen
MALANGEN won twice in the summer this year and although he was only fourth last time, he didn’t jump as well as he could, and he’s back down to his last winning mark here. He has defied much higher marks in the past, such as 109, 111 and 106, as well as placing numerous times off higher marks too. He’s the well-handicapped horse in this race as none of the others can boost comparable form, so in the hope he jumps better this time round, he should be extremely competitive here.
