Hilts is best forgiven his latest effort after scoping dirty and had previously looked capable of winning more races off this mark, so warrants consideration. DUNDORY had a lot to do when finishing second at Epsom 11 days ago and the John O'Shea inmate could gain compensation here. Royal Regent ran a good third over C&D last week and rates a player off the same mark, with Cabinet Maker another meriting respect now returning to turf.
Prediction : 1st Dundory 2nd Hilts 3rd Royal Regent

This could go the way of the Archie Watson-trained RADETSKY MARSCH, who showed lots of promise when finishing a good third on his racecourse bow at Sandown last month. There could be more to come from him up in trip, but Eastvan also made an encouraging start to his racing career in August and seems a big threat. Muir Wood boasts an appealing pedigree and completes the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Radetsky Marsch 2nd Eastvan 3rd Muir Wood

A number of these look to hold claims, but ZUMAATY has gone very close on his last couple of starts and he could finally open his account. On The River has put a number of solid performances together and he is unlikely to be far away at the finish here, while Engles Rock and Chinese Spirit are others to keep an eye on.
Prediction : 1st Zumaaty 2nd On The River 3rd Engles Rock

WOVEN looked to be back to near his best when he finished second over C&D in the Silver Cup at the Western meeting and has a solid chance of going one better today. There are dangers aplenty, though, including the lightly-raced Maple Jack, who is still 2lb well-in despite carrying a 5lb penalty after winning here nine days ago. Classy Al also shoulders a penalty but should still go well.
Prediction : 1st Woven 2nd Maple Jack 3rd Classy Al

Although he's still a maiden after 11 starts, TIMBUKONE looks handicapped to win if putting it all together and Keith Dalgleish's runner is fancied to get off the mark. Stablemate Cobra Kai is still seemingly progressing and he should go well again following a good second here off this mark last month, while First Greyed won at Thirsk in impressive fashion last time and, although this is tougher, he looks set to give it another good go.
Prediction : 1st Timbukone 2nd Cobra Kai 3rd First Greyed

MARTIN'S BRIG won over this distance at Carlisle in August and has backed that performance up with a couple of placed efforts over further, including when runner-up at Beverley last month. The drop back in trip, along with his rider's 5lb claim, might see the five-year-old return to winning ways. Retirement Beckons is expected to bounce back from his latest effort at Hamilton, while Yeeeaah and One Last Hug appeal most of the remainder.
Prediction : 1st Martins Brig 2nd Retirement Beckons 3rd Yeeeaah

16:45 Ayr

In a wide-open contest the marginal preference is for EMERALD LADY, who was not beaten far over course and distance three weeks ago and she could go very well off a 1lb lower mark today. Slainte Mhath is an obvious threat to the selection based on her victory over 6f at Hamilton in late August, while Zig Zag Zyggy and Slate Cracker are others who merit places on the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Emerald Lady 2nd Slainte Mhath 3rd Zig Zag Zyggy

Aighear had Socially Shady just a neck away in third when victorious over 1m7f here last week, but was down the field behind VALLEY OF FLOWERS prior to that. Since that decisive triumph, Jacqueline Coward's filly has gone agonisingly close at Southwell and, back on turf, can gain compensation for that near-miss. City Vaults has been in fine fettle this year and could be the primary threat.
Prediction : 1st Valley Of Flowers 2nd City Vaults 3rd Aighear
