This nursery is full of unexposed runners but preference goes to the Ralph Beckett trained APACHE SPARK (best priced at 10/1) who looks well handicapped based on her penultimate start. The daughter of Sioux Nation was sent off favourite for her debut at Salisbury where she was slightly disappointing before finishing only 1 ¾ lengths behind Kinta at Kempton with the pair pulling four lengths clear of the third. That rival went on to finish 2nd behind Lezoo in a Group 3 at Ascot on her next start and is now rated 101 so this opening handicap mark of 79 could seriously underestimate her.

Apache Spark has had a two month break since finishing 4th at Lingfield in a novice race over 5f but this step back up in trip on her handicap debut should suit and I expect her to run well with up to four places available.

This looks like a competitive listed race but the Hugo Palmer trained QUENELLE D’OR (best priced at 20/1) looks overpriced at current odds. The four-year-old is top rated in the field with a rating of 99 but does need to be excused her latest two runs where she has disappointed. She was progressive in 2021 with form figures of 1713253215 which included a listed victory at Saint-Cloud in September.

Quenelle D’Or outran odds of 40/1 to finish a close 5th in the Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot off a mark of 100 under James Doyle before disappointing at both Leopardstown and Newmarket on her next two starts at Group 3 level. She drops down in class to a listed race here and she should run well with up to five places on offer.

The Robert Cowell trained ANGLE LAND (best priced at 4/1) bounced back to form when 3rd in a first time visor last time and she should run well off a 1lb lower mark. The three-year-old won at Lingfield over 5f off a mark of 70 earlier this season before finishing 2nd at Goodwood off a mark of 75. She slightly disappointed on her next four starts before finishing 3rd by a length at Yarmouth last time when fitted with a first time visor.

The handicapper has remarkably dropped Angle Land 1lb for that run down to a mark of 68 and I expect her to prove hard to beat off that mark if the visor works the trick for a second time.
