Leg 1 Selections: Holocene

The William Haggas trained HOLOCENE has run consistently well on her four career starts to date and looks sure to run well off the same mark as when 2nd on her handicap debut last time. The three-year-old won on her debut at Ripon before placing at Nottingham on her latest two starts. She was only beaten 1 ¾ lengths on her handicap debut last time and connections now fit her with first time cheekpieces in this race and she should once again be involved in the finish.

Leg 2 Selections: Artisand

This looks a competitive novice race but preference goes to the Charlie & Mark Johnston trained ARSTISAND who should improve from his debut run at Brighton a week ago. The son of Mastercraftsman was slowly away that day and ran green in the early stages before making eyecatching late headway to being 4th only beaten two lengths. This step up in trip from a mile to nearly 1m2f will suit and he should prove hard to beat against more exposed rivals.

Leg 3 Selections: Woolhampton

The Rod Millman trained WOOLHAMPTON is 0-7 in her career but now drops back into a novice race having contested valuable sales races and listed races on her previous three starts. She is rated only 2lbs lower than the favourite Al Dasim but receives 12lbs from that rival so she should prove hard to beat in this race with connections fitting her with first time cheekpieces.

Leg 4 Selections: The Nail Gunner

The Ivan Furtado trained THE NAIL GUNNER has form figures of 5111 at Wolverhampton in handicaps and he should hold strong claims of adding to his recent course and distance success. The four-year-old has won off marks of 57, 60 and 65 over this course and distance and now races off a 3lb higher mark following his recent ¾ length success.

The Nail Gunner made all that day at Wolverhampton under Joey Haynes and he should hold strong claims of repeating those tactics with Joey Haynes once again riding and the gelding coming out of Stall 3.

Leg 5 Selections: Pretending

This looks a competitive 0-85 handicap but one horse who looks sure to relish this 1m6f is the Sir Mark Prescott trained PRETENDING. The three-year-old filly stepped forward from her debut run at Chelmsford over 7f to win at Southwell over 1m3f before finishing a close 5th over 1m4f at Kempton last time under a penalty. She now makes her handicap debut off a mark of 78 but she looks sure to be suited by this step up in trip to 1m6f on both running style and her breeding.

Leg 6 Selections: Shibuya Song & Lady Percival

Both SHIBUYA SONG and Lady Percival should be suited to this 2 mile trip on the all-weather and they can hopefully complete the final leg of the placepot. Shibuya Song has been running consistently well with form figures of 31232 including a narrow defeat over this trip off a 1lb lower mark last time. Lady Percival won on her only start at Wolverhampton in her career and stayed on well over 1m6f last time behind Pentland Hills shaping like this step up in to 2 miles should suit.
