Steve Ryder shares his Tote Placepot tips for today's racing at Brighton.

Leg 1 Selections: Gatwick Kitten
Despite being 3lbs “wrong” at the weights in this contest, I feel that GATWICK KITTEN still holds strong claims as a result of his good course form. The Ali Stronge trained gelding won for a second time over this course and distance last time when showing a good attitude to win by a neck at the finish. The handicapper has raised him 2lbs that victory but he instead runs here under a 5lb penalty which will make things more difficult but he should run well.

Leg 2 Selections: Mutaany
Danger Alert faces question marks on his stable debut for George Boughey so preference instead goes to the Charlie Hills trained MUTAANY. The two-year-old colt has finished 2nd on his previous three starts at Nottingham, Wolverhampton and Haydock which has earned him a rating of 80. That is 2lbs lower than Danger Alert on official ratings but that rival has now left Kevin Philippart De Foy and joined George Boughey and may need this run
14:05 Brighton
Leg 3 Selections: Granary Queen
This looks a competitive 0-75 handicap and preference goes to the Eve Johnson Houghton trained GRANARY QUEEN who has been running consistently well this year. She has progressed from a mark of 63 from the start of the year up to a mark of 72 following four victories so far this season. Her latest triumph came at Lingfield over a mile when showing a good attitude to win by a short head off a mark of 70. The handicapper has raised her 2lbs for that victory but she looks sure to run well once again.
14:40 Brighton
Leg 4 Selections: Dumfries
Both Racinbreaks Ryder and Tellateller set the standard with marks of 79 and 77 but preference instead goes to DUMFRIES who looks sure to progress from his first run. The Marcus Tregoning trained colt outran odds of 50/1 to finish a close 4th at Ffos Las on his debut staying on well late on over 7f. This step up in trip to a mile should suit him and he should also improve a lot from that debut effort. Harry Davies takes off a handy 3lbs and he should run well in an open looking novice race.
15:15 Brighton
Leg 5 Selections: Parikarma
Both Angels Roc and PARIKARMA bring recent course and distance successes into this race but preference goes to the latter who looks to have improved since joining the Gary Moore stable from Ed Dunlop. The seven-year-old mare won on her stable debut over this course and distance last time by 2 ¾ lengths under Tom Queally despite idling near the finish. She runs here off a 5lb higher mark which is fair and she should run well once again.
15:50 Brighton
Leg 6 Selections: Aldbourne
The Harry Eustace trained ALDBOURNE should prove hard to beat in this race from 9lbs “well in” at the weights. The three-year-old gelding had previously shown only respectable from since joining the stable but he ran out an impressive seven length winner under Adam Farragher in an apprentice handicap at Nottingham a week ago. The handicapper has raised him 9lbs but he instead runs off his previous mark of 62 so he should prove hard to beat if replicating his run last time.
