SPRINGWELL BAY was mightily impressive when winning a bumper at Market Rasen last November and he's arguably the one to beat on his hurdling bow. However, Sizing Pottsie was a Grade 2 winner over fences when trained in Ireland and should provide a stern challenge. A narrow winner between the flags, Whataboutyeh makes some appeal on his first start for Sam England, while Iorens is another to consider.

Cases can be made for several of these but it can pay to side with THE FERRY MASTER, who was last seen in the Scottish Grand National in April. Step Back has gone well fresh in the past and must be respected along with Small Present, who could be interesting on just his second attempt over fences.

Completing the shortlist are Iolani, Largy Reach and Spot On Soph.
