LASER FOCUS ought to be on the premises in this weak race. He attracted plenty of support before finishing fourth of 18 behind a decisive winner at Listowel last month. That form entitles him to plenty of respect in this contest. Hollys Honour wasn't at her best over further in Clonmel, but has to rate a danger back at this trip. Her fourth place at Sligo in August is a strong piece of form in the context of this race. Silver Gazette has shown snippets of form in bumpers and will be fit coming from these quarters. First Dare is a hurdling newcomer to note in the market.
Prediction : 1st Laser Focus 2nd Hollys Honour 3rd Silver Gazette

MATER MATUTA won over a similar trip on her penultimate start in a Bellewstown handicap hurdle. That form got a boost when the runner-up delivered over fences in Sligo. Mater Matuta enjoys Tramore's undulations as she won a handicap chase at this track in June. Jack Holiday reverts back to hurdles off a much lower mark than his chase rating. He likes to make all and the field would be wise not to give him too much rope, particularly with Philip Byrnes taking 7lb off his back. Brooklyn Balance showed marked improvement to finish second at Fairyhouse this month. He was just pipped by a head and has obvious claims on the back of that. That race was a slowly-run affair, though, and it was on good ground and there is likely to be cut in the ground here. Danegeld is returning from a break, but shouldn't be underestimated.
Prediction : 1st Mater Matuta 2nd Jack Holiday 3rd Brooklyn Balance

CHAMPAGNESOCIALIST won as she pleased in a Downpatrick bumper and is of interest on her hurdling debut. She is a lightly-raced sort who galloped her rivals into the turf by 19 lengths off the front in the north. She is ground versatile and there should be more to come from her up in trip. Ben Harvey is good value for his 7lb claim. Bellatior is another bumper winner. She was then pitched into a Grade 2 bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival in February, but weakened out of contention. That shows the regard she is held in, though. She is sure to be ready for hurdles coming from Gordon Elliott's stable. Kilbunny Pontic brings strong mares' maiden hurdle form to the contest having finished runner-up at Listowel and Fairyhouse. Dina Leen was beaten into fifth at odds-on in a mares' bumper at Wexford, but represents the champion trainer and a better run looks probable.
Prediction : 1st Champagnesocialist 2nd Bellatior 3rd Kilbunny Pontic

This race revolves around whether MAXXUM reappears after running at Punchestown on Tuesday. He went off 5/4 favourite for a big field handicap hurdle over an extended 2m4f and came in second, beaten by half a length. That was his first run since switching to Gordon Elliott after a break of more than four months. If he doesn't turn out again quickly, Steppenwolf could be the one to be on. On his penultimate start, he took a Clonmel handicap hurdle by six lengths. That entitles him to plenty of respect. Game And Glory has prospects after a third place in a mares' handicap hurdle in Clonmel at the end of last month. Sean Says could bounce back from an unplaced run at Listowel.
Prediction : 1st Maxxum 2nd Steppenwolf 3rd Game And Glory

A change of tactics reaped dividends in Killarney for JOESWAYORNOWAY and they could work again. She dictated in County Kerry and kept on well to make the breakthrough over fences. Kieren Buckley retains the ride and is proving that his 5lb claim is a bonus. Where's Bunny also arrives in winning form after landing a mares' handicap hurdle at Clonmel. It is worth noting that she won over fences at Wexford in June. She has a better chance than most here. Dreamsrmadeofthis could show more after being off since March. She has a victory over flights in her locker.
Prediction : 1st Joeswayornoway 2nd Wheres Bunny 3rd Dreamsrmadeofthis

MAJAVANGO has shown up well in two beginners' chases at Downpatrick and can make it third time lucky at a similar track. She was beaten a length in May by an in-form horse who swiftly followed up. She returned to the same venue last month to come home a close third. The runner-up has since won a beginners' chase by 15 lengths in Killarney to enhance the form. Barncroft makes his chasing debut and has posted one decent run over flights when third in a big field at Naas last December. He is in good hands. Bentham has plenty of experience over fences, but has questions to answer after being pulled up on his last two starts in this discipline.
Prediction : 1st Majavango 2nd Barncroft 3rd Bentham

Willie Mullins runs newcomer TINA MEEHAN who is related to a multiple winner and is sure to be well schooled. She avails of Jody Townend's assistance. Her record when teaming up with Mullins in bumpers is excellent. If Tina Meehan doesn't live up to expectations, Six Ace may be the one to take advantage of that. He has had the benefit of four runs and was placed in his last couple of starts albeit beaten a fair way. Inion Tiogair makes her debut for Mags Mullins and is a sister of a horse who finished second in a bumper behind an impressive winner at Gowran Park in January.
Prediction : 1st Tina Meehan 2nd Six Ace 3rd Inion Tiogair
