Kadex arrives on the back of a success in the French provinces and is worth monitoring in the market on his handicap debut for the Lucy Wadham yard. Cawthorne Lad brings some solid form to the table after his recent exploits this summer, but a 3lb rise may make life tougher. Preference is for SOPHOSC, who remains unbeaten over hurdles after two starts and there could be more to come from the Ian Williams inmate on his handicap debut.
Prediction : 1st Sophosc 2nd Cawthorne Lad 3rd Kadex

SHETLAND BUS is due to go up 5lb in the handicap after winning a conditional jockeys' event at Stratford 11 days ago and holds strong claims off the same mark here. Fakir stayed on well to get up at Fontwell last month and he could pose the biggest threat to the selection over this trip. Tommie Beau was last seen in fine form when winning in May and merits respect as the only C&D winner in the race.
Prediction : 1st Shetland Bus 2nd Fakir 3rd Tommie Beau

MATATA makes his Rules debut for the Nigel Twiston-Davies yard after winning his sole point-to-point and, in an open race, he's taken to make a winning start for his new connections. Rock Legend has to concede 7lb to the selection and has some questions to answer after finishing down the field when last seen in June, but the Dan Skelton team are likely to have freshened him up. A decent Flat performer, Rhubarb Bikini is also of interest now his attention is switched to this sphere.
Prediction : 1st Matata 2nd Rock Legend 3rd Rhubarb Bikini

BELLS OF STAMFORD was a revelation when upped in trip at Ayr in May and there could be much more to come from the five-year-old now. Sparkling Dawn was an eye-catcher on his first run for new connections at Southwell and he is entitled to improve upon that effort. A convincing winner at Huntingdon last week, Anger Management is another to consider as he goes past two miles for the first time.
Prediction : 1st Bells Of Stamford 2nd Anger Management 3rd Sparkling Dawn

A decent performer on the level this season reaching an official rating of 94 at his best, HALIPHON looks just the type who could excel in this sphere for a shrewd outfit. Bobby Socks may have disappointed when unseating early at Uttoxeter but he was a taking winner at Newton Abbot before that and brings a strong level of form to the table. El Muchacho cannot be ruled out either.
Prediction : 1st Haliphon 2nd Bobby Socks 3rd El Muchacho

Oceans Red is bound to be popular here following an easy success at Sedgefield last week over further. A 7lb rise makes life more difficult, though, and preference is for BOBMAHLEY, who may still be a maiden through 11 starts under Rules but has been runner-up on three of his last four outings and ran arguably a career best at Ffos Las last time out. Another Mystery didn't shape without promise on his debut over the larger obstacles at Warwick and is open to improvement.
Prediction : 1st Bobmahley 2nd Oceans Red 3rd Another Mystery
