FLIGHT OF ANGELS fared best of those with no prior experience when a good third at Chelmsford last month, and she's fancied to take a step forward. Young And Fun, who finished a place ahead of the selection on that occasion, appears likely to be in the thick of things once more, while Good Gracious was no match for a ready winner at Redcar on her latest outing but the daughter of Kingman could be seen to greater effect on this ground.
Prediction : 1st Flight Of Angels 2nd Young And Fun 3rd Good Gracious

THEWAYTOTHESTARS kept on well to fill the runner-up spot over 1m at Musselburgh in June, where she had the reopposing Gracelands Girl behind in third. Lucinda Russell's charge has been freshened up since and, if first-time cheekpieces can eke out further improvement, she could make a winning return. Pink Parfait was an eye-catcher over 6f at this venue on her debut and she delivered on that promise when successful at Newcastle last month, so the daughter of Bated Breath merits the utmost respect.
Prediction : 1st Thewaytothestars 2nd Gracelands Girl 3rd Pink Parfait

Zip showed much more when third in the refitted visor (retained) at Ayr last month, signalling a return to form. The handicapper dropped him 2lb for that effort and, with Oisin McSweeney's 5lb claim taken into account, he's too well treated to ignore. That said, preference is for IT JUST TAKES TIME. Mark Walford's four-year-old has been highly progressive this season, winning four times, and, having hit the crossbar at Pontefract last time out (front pair well clear), he can go one better. Recent Musselburgh scorer Muntadab is another to consider.
Prediction : 1st It Just Takes Time 2nd Zip 3rd Muntadab

The in-from Chipstead bids for a third consecutive success but he's got 5lb more to shoulder after his narrow win in the Portland at Doncaster last month, so he might be worth taking on. Several hold reasonable claims but VINTAGE CLARETS, who was a good second off this mark at York eight days ago, appeals most on these terms. The selection is very well handicapped in comparison to his juvenile form and seems to be ideally suited to racing over the minimum trip these days. Count D'Orsay, who won the 2019 renewal of this race, is another to note.
Prediction : 1st Vintage Clarets 2nd Chipstead 3rd Count DOrsay

Motawaazy won five times from 11 starts in 2021 and showed he retains scope when he made a successful return over C&D in April. However, he hasn't been seen since and is reluctantly passed over in favour of the race-fit ADMIRALITY, who is worth forgiving a modest effort in the cavalry charge of the Bronze Cup at Ayr last time. He is better judged on his previous run at Thirsk. That form has been strongly boosted since and, off a 1lb lower mark, Roger Fell's gelding looks worth a punt. Black Friday and Pearl Of Qatar complete the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Admirality 2nd Motawaazy 3rd Black Friday

Ralph Beckett wouldn't be a trainer immediately associated with targeting Catterick with an unexposed individual but that's the scenario facing SWEET FANTASY in her bid to shake off her maiden tag. She's a low-mileage filly who has shown a lot of promise with two placed efforts since returning from a summer break. She seems to have a preference for cut in the ground and could well find more improvement now she tries a longer trip. Arrange has also shown progressive form this season and can go well despite being 9lb above her winning mark at Musselburgh in August. Two Brothers creeps in at the foot of the weights and is another to bear in mind.
Prediction : 1st Sweet Fantasy 2nd Arrange 3rd Two Brothers

Real Terms has been progressive this season and three wins from just five starts since July testifies to the fact that she's at the top of her game just now. However, this is a new trip for the Grant Tuer-trained mare and it's a far from straightforward task. Therefore, it can pay to take a chance on FLAMBOROUGH improving for the fitting of cheekpieces and he makes more appeal after posting a respectable effort over this distance in a much tougher race at York eight days ago. Choirmaster, a former stablemate of the selection, is also noted.
Prediction : 1st Flamborough 2nd Real Terms 3rd Choirmaster
