Finisk River continues in great heart making it 3 wins from his last 4 at Worcester last month but a further 4lb rise asks for more and he has never won off a mark this high now. This looks most competitive than that last race he won and I think HAJEY has a cracking shout here. He loves this track and trip having won twice over it at the start of the year and he did very little wrong in defeat beaten less than a length last time. They pulled 13 lengths clear from the rest and given he will strip fitter from that I’m pleasantly surprised that he isn’t favourite for this. Kihavah fell at Market Rasen yesterday and would have to be respected turned out quickly but he has a bit to prove off the back of that. Kajaki won over C&D last time and is up 4lb but again this looks a deeper contest.

This might not take a huge amount of winning so BIGGERTHANBIGTIME looks worth siding with to go one better than that Curragh second. He had shown promise in his 3 qualifying runs and took a nice step forward on handicap debut last time. He was well backed in the market so perhaps connections were hopeful he would step forward. The front pair pulled 5 and a half lengths clear from the rest and the winner Mile End has won again since and looks a nice filly for Johnny Murtagh. Even at the time of writing the money is coming and that is always a positive in Ireland. Dandy Man filly Alabama Pearl looks the danger having finished second at Down Royal last time. She has first-time cheekpieces and her opening mark looks fair so she should keep the selection honest.
