Coal Stock could prove the biggest threat if putting his chase experience to good use, with Presuming Ed likely to strip fitter for his recent run on the Flat 16 days ago.

This is likely to prove a match between the Dan Skelton and Gary Moore inmates, after Tio Mio pulled up on his hurdling debut at Bangor last month. TEDDY BLUE finished a cracking second in the Adonis over C&D last season and, although the four-year-old struggled in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham, he is likely to appreciate the return to this sharper track. Boombawn was heading in the right direction when last seen finishing second at Sandown but he may struggle to successfully concede weight to his higher-rated opponent.

Lightly raced for a 10-year-old and an impressive winner of his last two starts over C&D, SLATE HOUSE looks the one to beat despite an uninspiring effort at Plumpton when last in action. Runswick Bay won on his chase debut at Ludlow but he will need to brush up on his jumping if he is to trouble the selection. Last year's winner Mercian Prince is likely to figure along with the progressive Romanor.

The admirable SCEAU ROYAL is well clear of these on ratings and he can make his class tell as he looks to follow up last year's victory in this contest. Last seen finishing second in the Celebration Chase at Sandown, Alan King's charge should have far too much for Sebastopol, who returns to hurdles after a taking success at Chepstow last Saturday. The progressive See The Sea cannot be ruled out either.

JEMIMA P is rated 140 over fences and was last seen rattling off a hat-trick in that sphere last year, so she looks the one to side with. Emma Lavelle's mare has been off for over a year, though, so if she fails to fire then Glengeever might be the one to capitalise following his comfortable victory at Newton Abbot back in May. Rock On Cowboy showed plenty of ability when winning an Irish point-to-point earlier this year, so he's another to take seriously.

With the yard in such good form at the moment, GO ON CHEZ looks like the most solid option in this. Bar one blip at Uttoxeter in July, he's been running consistently well over fences and, if wind surgery has the desired effect, he can return to winning ways. Minella Buster showed plenty of ability over hurdles last year, so he's definitely one to consider on his first start over the larger obstacles, while the veteran Steel Wave could outrun his odds.
