STATIC CHARGE appeals on the back of a solid runner-up berth when beaten by half a length over this trip in Dundalk. His previous placed effort came on soft ground at Sligo and there is likely to be plenty of cut in this ground. Hilltop's Bear was half a length off Static Charge in third at Dundalk. He then handled soft ground when fourth in a valuable nursery at Naas, so he is a big player. Reigles got off the mark over an extended 7f at Bellewstown on good to yielding ground where she availed of stall one. She is up 5lb, but that is far from insurmountable. Of more concern is the wide draw. Static Charge's stablemate, Calamint, is a potential improver in first-time cheekpieces. Summer Snow is up in trip, but avails of Jamie Powell's 7lb allowance and has claims.

Aidan O'Brien has won the last three renewals of this race. He holds a very strong hand with a trio of runners. His newcomer JOAQUIN SOROLLA could show up well and has an each-way chance. This Galileo colt is out of a mare who was a Grade 2 winner and who was also placed in the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks. Joaquin Sorolla's sister won during her juvenile season last year and picked up a Grade 3 this season. Immutable went down by a neck after being caught in the closing stages over 1m on testing ground at Listowel. That brings him into contention. O'Brien's San Antonio looks sure to improve from an opening fifth at Tipperary. He holds an Epsom Derby entry. Young Ireland brings plenty of experience and a mark of 97 to the contest. He has posted several solid efforts, but has to bounce back from a below-par run at Navan. Dark Side wasn't as good on his second run, but has ability. He has entries in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and the Epsom Derby.

WATER NYMPH is highly likely to come on from her debut sixth in Killarney. She is related to a host of multiple winners including Group 1 Nassau Stakes winner Fancy Blue. Water Nymph has an Irish 1,000 Guineas entry. Jeaniemacaroney is one of three Joseph O'Brien runners. She is well worth considering on her track debut after landing a barrier trial at Dundalk. Her stablemate, Operatic Artist, is entitled to improve from a fifth place in Down Royal. Drummin Life progressed on her second start to finish third in a fillies' maiden at Thurles.

INSTRUMENTAL may be able to strike again here after a narrow defeat at Dundalk last Friday night. The No Nay Never gelding just failed by a short-head to peg back Tawaazon last time having won on the all-weather on his previous visit. He remains on the same mark of 65 and James Ryan takes a valuable 7lb off his back now which looks a big plus. Ground would be a slight unknown. Drish Melody is proven on easy going and ran well off her current mark when third at Killarney recently. She could be a big player again. Stormie Outlook has been runner-up on her two most recent runs, including behind Drish Melody when she won at Killarney early last month, and is another that has to be on the shortlist.

Cian MacRedmond takes 5lb off the back of SKONTONOVSKI and he may be able to follow up after his recent win at Killarney. The handicapper stuck him up 7lb for that victory so it looks an obvious move to try and offset that rise now with a claimer on board. Carirose ran a decent race when fifth behind the selection eight days ago and she has to be respected on the revised terms. Stormy Jenn ran well when third at Dundalk last time and is a previous course winner but the ground would be a question mark with her.

THE POCKET FLYER will handle conditions and may be able to gain a first win. Ray Cody's diminutive filly was runner-up in a heavy ground maiden at Limerick a year ago and, after struggling for most of this season, bounced back to form when returning from a layoff at Killarney recently. She was fourth over this trip behind Dazzling Spirit who franked that form when scoring at Leopardstown on Saturday. Facethepuckout sluiced in by six lengths at the Curragh last week and is obviously the one to beat under his penalty. All three wins have come over 7f but he came home well over this trip when third at Cork on his penultimate start. Dragon Roll was a debut winner here as a juvenile and gained her first win since at Dundalk earlier in the month. That was over 1m2f but conditions will mean stamina is at a premium here and she has some fair form on easy ground.

An end of season maiden that won't take much winning and ENGAGEMENT RING may prove good enough. The sister to Irish Derby and St Leger winner Capri showed little on her first two starts but her front-running fourth on soft ground at Killarney recently was much better. The blinkers which may have contributed to that improved performance are retained and she's entitled to improve from the run having been off since July. Zawahiyr will handle the ground and is rated just 1lb lower than the selection. She has some solid 1m4f form to her name and should be suited by stepping back up in trip after finishing third over 1m last time. Libby, for whom heavy ground is a concern, was an eye-catcher when third in a Galway festival handicap but has disappointed twice since and is now tried in a tongue-tie. Blazing Skies, yet to race beyond 1m, is a dubious stayer but comes from a stout family on the dam's side.

NOBLE CRUSADE won nicely over a similar trip at Killarney last week and may still have a bit of leeway in terms of his handicap mark. He was a dual winner in Britain last year where his rating reached 81 at its height, so his new mark of 72 is still workable and he handles soft ground well. White Caviar is a well-bred filly who makes her handicap debut after winning a Listowel maiden on testing ground. That form has been franked by wins for the placed horses and she is clearly a danger to more exposed rivals. Extensio has had a fine season but won't be in love with a slog on deep ground but Star Official, up 10lb for a breakthrough win at Killarney, and Curragh third Darraby are two who will be fully effective on the surface.
