However, C&D winner LIVELY CITIZEN makes most appeal now eased in class, with his second in the Imperial Cup reading well at this lower level. Downpatrick winner No Trouble is another to note.

Sole Pretender arrives in good form following a third-placed effort in a Grade 3 at Roscommon, with Ash Tree Meadow proving a progressive chaser since finishing third on his debut over fences in May. However, the Dan Skelton-trained UHTRED makes his stable debut after an impressive chase win in Ireland and may capitalise in receipt of weight. Aucunrisque is entitled to improve on his chase debut earlier in the month and makes some appeal too.

Listed-hurdle winner Flaming Moon arrives in good heart, but the five-year-old may prove vulnerable to some less-exposed rivals. The Gordon Elliott-trained MUSIC DRIVE finished eighth here in the Champion Bumper and there could be more to come after making light work of the opposition when winning on his hurdling debut at Galway earlier in the month. She Is Electric posted a career best to win at Gowran Park 21 days ago, but the seven-year-old will need to settle better.

The verdict goes to HANG IN THERE, who has been a revelation over fences this summer. Emma Lavelle's charge has barely broken sweat in winning his last four and, despite this being the most competitive race he's contested in a while, he can make his experience tell from the front. Tullybeg is noted following a smooth success at Wexford last month, while Pull Again Green, a winner last time out here, has plenty of potential ahead of his chasing bow.

Coole Cody's record here speaks for itself and he is bound to be popular on his return to action, having finished second in this last year off 6lb lower. Preference, however, is for SPANISH PRESENT, who impressed at Worcester last month and could have been handed a feasible opening handicap mark. Martin Keighley's charge wasn't disgraced in the Champion Bumper in March and he gets the vote. Francky Du Berlais and Irish raider Listentillitellyea can also get involved.

This prize could be heading back across the Irish Sea as SUPER CITIZEN makes plenty of appeal. Eugene O'Sullivan's eight-year-old finished a good sixth in this last year off a 4lb higher mark and his recent fifth at Listowel offered some hope that he could go well back here. On Springs has been largely progressive over fences and, with further improvement likely, he demands the utmost respect. Go On Chez would hold every chance if bouncing back from his recent fall at Kempton.

HULLNBACK brings a high level of bumper form to this contest having filled the runner-up berth in a Grade 2 at Aintree last season, and he's fancied to strike on his hurdling bow. Twinjets boasts a similar profile and he merits a place on the shortlist alongside Irish raiders An Mhi and Fennor Cross. Now in the care of Nicky Henderson, Petrossian makes plenty of appeal in a first-time hood.
