UK Horse Racing Tips: Dundalk

AFFABLE has been running in decent handicaps and could land this fillies' claimer on her first attempt at Polytrack in Dundalk. She hasn't been beaten far in three of her last four races. She has a lovely draw in stall two. She is by New Approach and his progeny have a fair record on all-weather surfaces. Chicago Lightening makes her first start for Shane Duffy after winning a fillies' claimer at Gowran Park for Johnny Murtagh. She was beaten by a neck in a maiden over C&D in January and is given plenty of respect. Eglish is performing very creditably for James McAuley. She has been runner-up on her last three visits here and was beaten a short head in both of her last two starts over this trip. She is a contender. Pretty Smart is more than capable, but none of her seven victories have come over 7f.

SCARLET ANGEL catches the eye on Polytrack debut. She has been placed in two of her six races on turf. The form of her runner-up spot at Bellewstown in August has been well franked as the winner followed up in Listowel. Scarlet Angel is by a sire who did plenty of winning on dirt in America. Kratos has a victory on the all-weather surface at Newcastle in his locker. He has moved from Roger Varian's yard to Ado McGuinness and is interesting on Irish debut off a handy mark with Adam Caffrey's claim factored in. Cedar Rapids' sole victory came over an extended 7f at Leopardstown in the summer. He wasn't at his best over an extended 1m2f at this venue earlier in the month, but was placed twice over 1m here in September, so ought to be a factor. Tynamite has been breaking slowly but, if he puts it all together, would have a part to play.

KUWAIT DIRECTION scored over this trip in Fairyhouse last month and looks value to follow up. The horse he beat into third has since won in Dundalk off a mark of 74. Kuwait Direction has winning form at Dundalk, so is adept on this surface. Tawaazon is on a hat-trick of victories at this track. He was tough in winning by a short head over 7f last week and should go well again for 7lb-claimer Sean Bowen. Inishmot Prince rarely runs a bad race here, but his wins have been over 5f. Seamie Heffernan could get a tune out of Pillar. The pair were successful on penultimate start at Fairyhouse.

COMPANY KEEPING has solid claims in this sprint. Pat Downey's charge was beaten a neck into second at Fairyhouse and the horse behind him in third has since gone in at this track. Company Keeping is on the same mark as his last run on the Polytrack in February, when he came in second behind a very in-form winner who was in the process of running up a sequence of victories. Silver Nemo put in his first meaningful effort in Ireland when fourth over C&D last month. He sported a first-time tongue-strap and blinkers which are retained. Colin Keane, who is involved in a terrific tussle for the jockeys' title, looks a significant booking. Caesar's Comet is very experienced around here and is well in the hunt for a cheque. Red Cymbal is on a very lowly mark which could reinvigorate him at a price.

There looks to be plenty of pace on in this dash. To further muddy the waters, there is little Polytrack experience to consider. MIDNIGHT TOKER is a very consistent performer as evidenced by his string of placed efforts. He has run behind some very useful sorts and can get off the mark in this nursery. Escaping Thejungle kept on strongly to win by more than four lengths over this trip in Bellewstown and the form appears strong as the runner-up won on next start by four lengths. It shows the regard that Escaping Thejungle is held in that she was pitched into Listed company on her second outing (fifth in Naas). Wakai Umi is drawn to attack in gate one. Jamie Powell's 7lb claim puts her on a very handy mark. Lovejoy did well to win on debut at Navan. She is well related and there should be much more to come, particularly when she settles.

An excellent Group 3 run in the memory of Pat Smullen. EROSANDPSYCHE's runner-up finish behind all-conquering Highfield Princess in the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh is very strong form. He didn't land a glove on the winner, but it showed he is not out of place at the top level of sprinting. Just a nose and a neck separated The Highway Rat, Logo Hunter and Harry's Bar over C&D three weeks ago. They are all eminently capable of blasting home particularly at this venue, however, there might be a bit more to come from Logo Hunter as that was his first run since June. British-raider Manaccan is in a rich vein of form. He could make his presence felt on his all-weather debut. He's a strong traveller who could really take to this surface. Juvenile Funny Money Honey has speed to burn especially when breaking from the stalls. She won a Listed race over C&D three weeks ago from the front and gets all the allowances here. A big run is far from out of the question, however, the widest draw in stall 11 might be tricky in this deep field.

There are any number of potential improvers in this field. Aidan O'Brien's Londoner is one of them. He is highly likely to come on from a debut fourth place on soft ground at Navan. This Irish 2,000 Guineas entrant has a difficult draw, but could get on the premises. Preference is for GOLDEN TEMPLE. It is probably best to put a line through his unplaced run on soft ground at Galway. On his penultimate start, he chased home the winner over C&D and that horse has gone on to be placed in a Group 3 and a Group 2. Dundalk barrier trial winner Cervetto is another to consider along with his stablemate, Rattle And Hum, who holds the same rating of 82 as Golden Temple. American-bred Semantics could take to this surface. More was expected of Atlantic Charter in Leopardstown. This former barrier trial winner gets cheekpieces now.

FLEET COMMANDER might just get the better of Fawkner Park. Aidan O'Brien's Fleet Commander has the benefit of two runs here and was only held by a neck over further earlier in the month. First-time cheekpieces are fitted and could eke out a bit more from him. Joseph O'Brien's Fawkner Park kept on well for third in Killarney and fifth over a similar trip to this one in Leopardstown. On both occasions, he was beaten just over a length. Any Dream Will Do has a couple of runner-up spots to her name and is only rated 1lb inferior to Fleet Commander. Marvelosa cannot be ruled out.
