Moktasaab is an obvious threat to the selection based on his second-placed finish at Newbury a month ago, while Wandering Rocks and Sir Rumi complete the shortlist.

Wodao was a bit disappointing in a Group 3 at Newmarket last time but it is far too soon to be writing him off. The consistent Bresson and Hispanic are others with strong form claims, while Simple Man should not be underestimated having made a winning debut at Nottingham recently.

Auguste Rodin is bound to be popular following his victory in a Group 2 at Leopardstown last month. However, the strength of that form can be questioned and, with that in mind, preference is for EPICTETUS, who created a big impression when winning on his debut at Newmarket in July. He was then off the track until his narrow defeat in the Autumn Stakes two weeks ago. That was a good effort in the circumstances and this son of Kingman may have more to offer. Holloway Boy could be vulnerable to classier rivals but he is consistent and is likely to be in the mix.

Marginal preference is for the relatively unexposed DESIGNER, who ran with credit in Listed company at Ascot last time out and was a convincing winner of a valuable fillies' handicap at York before that. Kimngrace was well on top of Vintage Clarets (second) when they met on the Knavesmire recently, but it is the latter who is fancied to overturn the form in receipt of weight on this occasion.

A difficult puzzle to solve, but it can pay to side with THE COOKSTOWN CAFU, who benefited from wind surgery when running out a convincing winner over further at Pontefract earlier in the month.
