Harswell Duke would have to be respected if turned out again for this seeing as he is on a hat-trick but METABOLT very much caught the eye in defeat when fourth at Chester last month and might be value against. This son of Night Of Thunder was an impressive winner at Carlisle before struggling to see daylight when nearest finish last time. He obviously remains unexpoaed and running off the same mark with this step up in trip sure to suit he must go close. Cisco Disco also brings winning form to the table and has to be respected but everything seemed to go his way at Pontefract last time and up 6lb this will almost certainly demand more. Intercessor will likely go hard off the front again but he is held by Harswell Duke on that Leicester form and I have a feeling both might end up vulnerable here.

14:00 Chepstow

Fergal O’Brien has made a fast start to the season and it would be no surprise to see HULLNBACK make a successful hurdles debut at Chepstow on Wednesday. This 5yo won impressively at this track in a bumper on debut before acquitting himself well under a penalty at Newbury. He was back on the up when second at Aintree in what looked a good race and if he takes to jumping should prove hard to beat. He has had a wind op and he could be one to keep on side this season. Timeforatune won his first 3 starts in bumpers before struggling at Newbury. He retains potential but might do better for the outing here. Pikar might emerge as a greater threat as he ran well on debut over hurdles beaten just a length by Knappers Hill and was highly tried at Haydock when last seen so sets the standard.
