Goshen ended last season over hurdles with victories at Sandown and in the Kingwell at Wincanton in February before conditions dried up. The six-year-old arrives following a narrow defeat on the Flat at Goodwood, but it remains to be seen how he takes to the larger obstacles. With that in mind, the vote goes to COBBLERS DREAM. Progressive last season, he took the Lanzarote at Kempton before finishing second in the Martin Pipe. Aintree looked to be a step too far and he appeals as the type to do even better in this discipline. Samarrive won twice over hurdles at Sandown and warrants consideration on his fencing bow.Prediction : 1st Cobblers Dream 2nd Goshen 3rd Samarrive

Anyharminasking improved once placed into handicap company last season, winning at Catterick and Sedgefield, but the form of those victories can be questioned, especially as he steps up in grade. Call Of The Wild appeals as having more to offer on his handicap debut, but the same owner's BROOMFIELD BURG gets the vote. Third in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow, the drop back in trip appears likely to benefit him and he may have further improvement on his second start after wind surgery. Hacker Des Places won at the Grand National meeting, with Washington back in third, and the pair are capable of being in the mix again.Prediction : 1st Broomfield Burg 2nd Call Of The Wild 3rd Hacker Des Places

NASSALAM has gone well fresh in the past, having won on this card 12 months ago, and the drop back in trip from all bar one of his starts in his novice chase campaign is unlikely to be a concern. Amoola Gold won this race in 2020 and is 7lb lower than his short-head defeat over C&D to Before Midnight last November. The last-named was probably over the top when disappointing at Aintree, but he would boast strong credentials based on the form achieved last autumn.Prediction : 1st Nassalam 2nd Before Midnight 3rd Amoola Gold

A tentative vote goes to TEA CLIPPER, who did everything right but win on his seasonal return at Chepstow earlier in the month. Tom Lacey's charge ran with credit in some high-class handicaps towards the end of last season and now that his stamina is proven over three miles, this appeals as an ideal opportunity. Our Power arrives with similar claims, although his record fresh leaves a lot to be desired, whereas the same cannot be said of the unexposed Major Dundee, who was third in the Scottish National. C&D winners Annsam and Regal Encore cannot be ruled out either. Prediction : 1st Tea Clipper 2nd Major Dundee 3rd Annsam

LEAVE OF ABSENCE made quite the impression in his first two bumpers last season before a respectable placed effort in Grade 2 company at the Grand National meeting. He looks like an exciting prospect starting out in this sphere and could get off to the perfect start here. That might be at the main expense of Invincible Nao, who is an intriguing recruit from France for the Gary Moore team. Blow Your Wad, who was just behind the selection at Aintree, and Holetown Hero showed enough in bumpers last season to suggest that they could make an impact over hurdles as well. Prediction : 1st Leave Of Absence 2nd Invincible Nao 3rd Blow Your Wad

The consistent DREAM IN THE PARK got off the mark on his handicap bow at Stratford earlier in the month and he merits plenty of respect once again today, despite a 4lb rise in the ratings. Alto Alto finished third in a competitive event at Sandown when last seen in April and that form gives him a big chance if he's ready to go after 189 days off. Sophosc is unbeaten over hurdles and he should not be discounted, while Hardy Boy is another to note. Prediction : 1st Dream In The Park 2nd Alto Alto 3rd Sophosc

The vote goes to BILLY BOI BLUE, who chased home a useful rival on his racecourse bow at Huntingdon in April and he should only benefit from that first race experience. Breaking Cover and Bannow Bay Boy merit consideration having shown some promise between the flags, while Fire Flyer, Soldierofthestorm and Samazul are just three more interesting players in what looks a potentially smart bumper. Prediction : 1st Billy Boi Blue 2nd Breaking Cover 3rd Bannow Bay Boy
