Flashy chestnut SEA THE CASPER remains open to further improvement and back over a C&D he has been successful over in the past I think he can prove a cut above his rivals here. Things never panned out for him at Newbury where he was well down the field and despite finishing second at Leicester I still felt he ran a bit flat. He stayed on well in the closing stages but was never a match for the winner.
Back on the AW here I think we’ll see a much better performance and be off the same mark, I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t go close. He brings the most potential to the table here, so I should be shorter than 11/4. Nao Da Mais improved to win over C&D last time but very much had the run of the race so will need more here. Silverscape has won at this track and didn’t run badly last time so might be the danger.

New Bay filly LULWORTH COVE looked in need of the outing and experience when finishing last on debut at Salisbury back in May. In fairness she did shape better than the bare result there and was only beaten 6 lengths at the line. With a summer on her back she returned a much improved invidiual to finish runner-up at Windsor going down less than two lengths at the line. The winner made all unchallenged and went on to bring up a hat-trick of wins for George Boughey. This looks winnable and she will be expected to open her account now with further progress to come. No Nay Never filly Martini Nights ran an eye-catching race on debut but struggled a bit at Leicester. If getting back on track she could emerge as the main danger to the selection. Calluna showed ability the fourth on debut at Newcastle and if improving could also be involved.
