Although he hasn't been seen on the track for 564 days, the vibes were very positive for MATTERHORN when joining Paul Nicholls so he could be up to making a winning start. Boom Boom showed ability in bumpers earlier this year and he should fare even better on his first start over hurdles, while Colonel Harry bumped into a good one when second at Uttoxeter and was clear of the remainder so is capable of getting involved.

Pic D'Orhy arrives on the back of a comfortable victory at Newton Abbot last month and the dual Grade 2 scorer demands the utmost respect. There are slight doubts whether he'll stay this trip, though, and preference is for DOES HE KNOW, who can make amends for falling at the first obstacle on his Kelso comeback. Kim Bailey's Reynoldstown winner can get back on track, while Fantastikas is another to consider.

IRISH HILL signed off his first UK campaign with a second at Warwick in May and it would be no surprise if he took another step forward on his reappearance. The Paul Nicholls-trained grey should relish this step back in trip and may be underestimated by a mark of 116. Krypton Gold has been knocking on the door and demands consideration, while Risk D'Argent completes the shortlist.

Ballyandy arrives in good form after finishing third at Perth in September and this stiffer test should see him remain competitive after a small rise in the ratings. With his stable in fine form, the dual Grade 1 winner may prove on a lenient mark. Rolling Dylan has two C&D wins to his name and shouldn't be ruled out.

School Days Over will find life tougher in this sphere now shouldering a 7lb penalty for winning at Market Rasen in May and may prove vulnerable to some unexposed types. The market should prove informative with so many newcomers to pick from, but the Nicky Henderson-trained IMMORTAL makes most appeal on paper and may be capable of making a winning start. Larchmont Lass can't be ruled out with her yard enjoying a healthy strike-rate at this venue, while Katate Dori represents an in-form stable.
