Invictus De Brion is another who showed potential in bumpers and he had the reopposing Alien Storm behind when winning at Plumpton in September, so Chris Gordon's colt is fancied to put up a bold showing.

BLACKCAUSEWAY steadily got the hang of things over hurdles last year and it's interesting that connections waste no time in sending him over fences, so he looks the one to side with for an in-form yard. Quick Draw has yet to convince when he's tried chasing previously, but, having been given a bit more time, he might be able to get his act together, while Dalamoi still looks very unexposed and he's another worth keeping an eye on.

Although TWIG has already won three times over fences, it seems connections are keen to take advantage of his novice status over hurdles and, following a very pleasing run at Cheltenham when second last time, he's extremely difficult to oppose in this. Ajp Kingdom made a winning start for Fergal O'Brien at Bangor last time so he could be the biggest danger, while surely Horn Cape is expected to do better at some stage.

In an open contest a chance is taken on DORKING LAD. Gary Moore's seven-year-old struggled in a 0-150 at Newbury when last seen but, eased in class, he could get back to winning ways. Vision Des Flos was far too keen over 3m at Exeter last month but he can be more competitive down in trip, while chasing debutant Frere D'armes can't be ruled out.

BOLD PLAN completed his hat-trick when successful at Cheltenham in April and he remains fairly treated off a 6lb higher mark. Evan Williams' charge is fancied to make a successful reappearance, possibly at the expense of Dorking Boy. Captain Morgs reverts to hurdling having finished third over fences in June and he could be revitalised by recent wind surgery.

A 3lb rise for Whatsdastory's win on her chase debut at Hereford last month could prove lenient as there could be more to come from the Dr Richard Newland inmate this campaign. However, LILITH proved a different proposition after being dropped in distance to win at both Newbury and Punchestown. A recent wind operation may see the seven-year-old shake off a 10lb hike in the ratings. Tweed Skirt may have more to offer on her first appearance over fences and makes most appeal of the remainder.

SEIGNEUR DES AS' latest third at Uttoxeter in October is rating better than first thought after the winner subsequently won a decent race at Cheltenham, and the Milton Harris inmate could do better yet now entering handicaps. Overpriced Mixer is entitled to improve on his Plumpton third after a 568-day absence and he's lurking on a dangerous mark. First Quest has less questions to answer than most and is also noted.
