14:20 Unanswered Prayers

Chris Gordon has made a fast start to the new Jumps season and he’ll be hopeful of a Cheltenham winner on Friday in the shape of UNANSWERED PRAYERS. This horse ran well without threatening on return over hurdles at Chepstow last month and that should have left him spot on for this. He has always looked like he’d make a better chaser and this is a good starting point. Pull Again Green was well held when third to Found On here last month but is expected to leave that behind now so looks the danger. Hereditary Rule has taken well to fences and arrives here chasing a hat-trick but this does look tougher so he’ll likely need to improve again to extend his winning run. Stimulating Song desperately needed the run at Uttoxeter but should build on that in time.

This looks a great chance for DANGER ALERT to make the breakthrough. George Boughey’s 2yo was denied just a neck on debut for this yard at Brighton and improved again in defeat going down a length at Doncaster last week. He beat all bar an improver and had them well strung out in behind. He is obviously weighted to have a big say here given this is easier and I’m expecting him to be well backed come post time. Brave Emperor has looked a nice prospect winning his last 2 but an opening mark of 84 is certainly no given. He could be the danger but short enough in the betting. Centre Court has missed a nose and a neck the last twice and another consistent run would have her in the mix as well but I think she’ll need more to spring an upset against the two mentioned.
