Barenboim has won 2 of his last 3 and is arguably unlucky not to be coming here chasing a four-timer given he only missed by a nose at Newcastle on penultimate start. He can make life tough for the jockey though and was again slowly away last time. This looks a better race and up 6lb I’m not sure he’ll get away with giving ground at the start. I think there is value in opposing and that makes potential improver SUNSTONE a standout. She is well bred and has been a work in progress so far. She ran her best race to date when third at Chelmsford last month and pitched into handicaps now off a mark of 74 I think she’ll go close here. This step up to a mile and a half will help and with pace drawn around her she could get a perfect toe into this. Barenboim is a danger but the hat-trick seeking At Liberty is also respected.
