Luna Queen's best efforts have come over C&D and it wouldn't be a huge shock if she bounced back on this occasion.

SHADOW OF WAR is bred to stay well, being a half-brother to Gold Cup hero Subjectivist and dual Group 2 winner Sir Ron Priestley, and cost 450,000gns at Tattersalls Book 1 last year. The son of Roaring Lion represents top connections and although boasting a pedigree that suggests he will progress over time, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him make a successful debut. A Gift Of Love and Empress Wu are a pair of well-related fillies who warrant plenty of consideration, while Alumnus and Commandeer complete the shortlist.

GOEMON got the better of a few smart rivals when successful over C&D in May and should be difficult to beat under a penalty, although he does have a six-month absence to overcome and now starts off for a new stable. Lady Loulou shaped well despite showing signs of greenness over 1m at Kempton and might be suited by the step up in trip. Idee Fixee has offered plenty of encouragement in his two starts and is respected under the champion jockey, although stall 11 is far from ideal.

Montatham wil be dangerous if handling the synthetic surface, while the progressive Tacarib Bay was ahead of him in third in the Balmoral at Ascot and shouldn't be far away. Keyser Soze must also enter calculations from towards the foot of the weights.

The surface shouldn't present any issues for the son of Galileo and, assuming he responds kindly to racing in blinkers for the first time, he can gain a first victory since landing the Belmont Derby in New York in July of last year. Missed The Cut and Majestic Dawn are capable of exploiting any weaknesses in the fitness of Aidan O'Brien's colt.

La Belle Vie is tried in cheekpieces for the first time and is another with scope to progress over the distance.
