The eight-year-old landed the Cross Country chase from a 1lb higher mark last November and his recent run over an inadequate 2m4f at Worcester should have left him cherry-ripe for this contest. Fantastikas contested some hot races last season and is of definite interest on his return to action. Ramses De Teillee can follow them home ahead of Slipway, while The Mighty Don shouldn't be underestimated either.

A typically competitive renewal of this valuable handicap, and it can pay to side with the consistent SEVERANCE, who gave a fine account of himself on his seasonal return in the Welsh Champion Hurdle. Money for Irish raider Thousand Tears is noted, but stronger claims may lie with Dads Lad, who won nicely over fences here last month. It was hard not to be impressed by the way SPRINGWELL BAY went about things on his hurdles debut at Carlisle last month. That being his first run in almost a year, there should be plenty more improvement forthcoming from the five-year-old as he takes a rise in grade. Fennor Cross had the reopposing Deere Mark (second) comfortably behind here last month and he can uphold that form now, while Listed winner She Is Electric is another to consider.
