I’m keen to oppose Prime Pretender at Fakenham on Tuesday. He was frustrating to follow over hurdles failing to win and while his chase debut was encouraging finishing a closing second at Ffos Las he is by no means a certainty to back that up and is short enough at 5/4. I think he’ll be a drifter on the day and the one I like in opposition is CONCEROE.

This horse won over hurdles at this track last year and just shaped to me as though he needed the run when third on chase debut last time. Three miles was probably just too much of an ask on reappearance so dropping back in trip here will help and he should have more to come off his current mark. Maria Magdalena looks the danger despite her losing run mounting up. Connections reach for first-time cheekpieces so she should give the selection most to think about.
