With the majority of this field unraced experience could prove crucial so it looks a great opportunity for ALEXANDER JOHN to open his account. This Dick Whittington colt has shown more than enough in three runs to win a maiden as weak as this. He left his debut run behind to go down less than four lengths into third at the Curragh last month and likely improved again in defeat filling the same position in testing ground last time.
The step back up a furlong in trip should see him improve again and under more positive tactics here he should be hard to beat. Sioux Nation filly Elusive Tune looks the most interesting debutant as she is related to winners and has been fairly strong in the betting this morning. Havana Grey filly Love Enchanted is also noted but might need a mile to be seen to best effect.

Quite a trappy race but at the same time we’re getting quite a decent price about the only last-time-out winner in the field in the shape of MONOPOLISE. This son of Showcasing made a winning handicap debut up in trip at Newmarket last month and going up to a mile for the first time here should see him progress again. He looks a useful type so he may stay ahead of the handicapper for a little while yet. Maxi King is gradually getting the hang of things and didn’t run badly when third at Newcastle last time.
He is the most obvious danger if building on that again but I do think the selection will be hitting the line stronger. Ludo’s Landing impressed winning at Carlisle in the summer but has gone off the boil since and I’m not sure this test is ideal as he was below par over track and trip latest.
