GYTO's Sunday Notebook Double pays 12/1.
12:10 Uttoxeter
This is a fascinating race on paper and one I bet I will be watching back a few times but I’ve got to be with HARJO for Charlie Longsdon. For starters I think he is a trainer that doesn’t get as much appreciation as he should. He may well have a really nice prospect on his hands here with this son of Yeats. I loved the way he stayed on when second to Maximilian at Carlisle on hurdles debut and he struck me as a horse that would improve a ton from that. This softer ground should suit too and he is very much one to keep on side. Flemensfirth gelding Issuing Authority obviously brings a great deal of potential to the table as well for Nicky Henderson. He won a bumper stylishly at Uttoxeter and should have a bright future so is the likely danger. Passing Well ran well in a bumper at Punchestown and also has claims for a red-hot trainer now with Jamie Snowden.
16:05 Exeter
With further improvement on the cards HALF THE FREEDOM should be up to opening his account at Exeter on Sunday. He has only had two starts in handicaps over hurdles and ran his best race by some way when second at Worcester last month. That was his first start for 217 days and he was asked to make up a fair bit of ground. The winner Couldbeaweapon dictated throughout and always had things going his way. He goes up in trip here which will help and with further improvement to come he should have the ability to take this out. Keplerian finished fifth at Chepstow last month and if he can brush up his jumping he could run well with that under this belt. Champs Hill needs to show more but there likely will be improvement to come now handicapping and Harry Cobden is obviously a notable jockey booking. Flutiste also has a squeak from a place perspective.
