Pembroke impressed winning on debut in a bumper at Huntingdon but he was only seventh in the end first time out over hurdles at Chepstow and he’ll need to leave that behind to figure. He did shape fairly well though and will improve but I think he is too short in here. MAGIC WAVE looks the one to oppose him with after bolting up in a bumper at Ayr. He made all on that occasion and it was really quite impressive how he went clear. He looks a nice prospect to go hurdling with and I think he can make a winning start over timber. If Pembroke does disappoint then perhaps Henry Gray might emerge as the danger. He won an Irish point over 3 miles and while his Irish point hasn’t worked out all that well he could still be a nice yardstick. Dickens did quite well on the Flat winning a couple of times and is also interesting now sent hurdling here.

This doesn’t look a strong maiden so I’ll be surprised if OSRAIGE doesn’t go close for Joseph O’Brien. This filly by Siyouni initially looked really promising finishing third on debut over 7f here a couple of years ago. She was an encouraging second at Cork on first start last season before backing that up with a fourth in a really competitive race back in May. She went off the boil somewhat after but has been given plenty of time since and there should be more to come now. She clearly goes well on this surface and dropping back to 6f should help as well. Ebtsama looked to need the run when only sixth on reappearance and could be the danger but she has had plenty of chances already. Tack is another one starting to look exposed but again on his best form he’d be a player in a weak race. Stablemate Lake Nakuru would only be interesting if strong in the betting.
