I’m surprised just how short Balco Coastal is here considering he has no experience over fences. I know he was runner-up in a point at the start of his career and obviously he reached a decent level over hurdles but this looks competitive and he might be opposable at tight enough odds. DATSALRIGHTGINO impressed asserting in good style at Chepstow last time and I thought he showed what an engine he had racing prominently and still having enough to go again at the finish. He is getting better with experience and I’m fairly confident there will be more to come again here. Frere D’armes bettered anything he had previously achieved over hurdles to win nicely on chase debut at Kempton. That form has been franked but an 8lb higher mark here (2lb out the weights) demands more. Soaring Glory might be a greater threat as he certainly has the size and scope to do well in this discipline.
