GYTO's Saturday Notebook Double pays 6/1.
I’ve been looking forward to LUCCIA going over hurdles after that 17-length demolition of her rivals at Sandown back in March. She started out at Warwick where she beat subsequent hurdles winner Blow Your Wad easily and then caught many an eye making it 2-2 so impressively on final start. The yard are unleashing some really smart types like we saw with Jet Powered yesterday and this could be another exciting prospect.
Poetic Music has experience on side having won well on hurdles debut at Ludlow. She looks to have a nice future as well but might just be bumping into one here. Carole’s Pass stayed on well to win over C&D but a 3lb penalty here will make things tougher against opposition with greater potential than what she has been facing. She’s A Saint was beaten by the latter when last seen so needs to improve to reverse that form here.
With gradual improvement in bumpers TOUCHY FEELY could come into her own now jumping hurdles. Her dam Liberthine made into a decent chaser so jumping is in her pedigree. The way she stayed on at Bangor on final start last season this step up in trip should help too and I think she has plenty going for her in what looks to be a winnable race on paper. Rose Of Siena is the standard setter having improved on her debut run to finish second at Cartmel but I think she is beatable and I’d be keen to oppose as she lacked fluency. La Gomera is a half-sister to Cogry but only cost 40,000 guineas and might need more time and experience to be seen to best effect. Windtothelightning missed just a short head in an Irish point so has ability but again should come on for the experience making her debut under Rules here with her new yard.
