UK Horse Racing Tips: Dundalk

LISIEUX was quietly fancied on nursery debut when beating stablemate Distillate at Naas and wasn't disgraced off her revised mark in what looked a decent renewal of the Birdcatcher Nursery again over 6f at the same venue. She gives the impression that she'll stay this longer trip and, although racing on polytrack for the first time, is related to some AW winners. Pub Talk got up close home to touch off Distillate at Down Royal but was behind that rival when a one-paced fifth over C&D last month. He stays this trip well and may even want a bit further already. Ger Lyons' runners in claimers always merit close scrutiny and Monophonic ran respectably on debut in a C&D maiden last week but the fact that Colin Keane prefers to ride Pub Talk diminishes confidence in her chance. Trident Star had three of these behind when fourth in a nursery here on Wednesday but needs to improve.

MAGGIE McGRATH has run well over the minimum distance on all three starts and has very much shaped like an extra furlong would suit. She was third to a subsequently Listed-placed colt over C&D in September and went down by less than a length to another useful and speedy type at Cork later that month. Smullens Pride is another trying 6f for the first time. Outclassed in Listed company on her second start, she has been placed in maidens either side of that including when runner-up at this venue last month. Valkyrian was third to two useful Ballydoyle fillies at Leopardstown in August but was disappointing over 7f here the following month. Excesso Velocidad chased home a recent AW maiden winner in a barrier trial here in July and makes her belated debut now.

LOKADA made her AW debut a winning one when landing a C&D maiden three weeks ago with Aurora Nova back in fourth. A 4lb rise still leaves her on a workable mark and she's far less exposed than most of these. Aurora Nova had previously shown ability when placed twice over this trip in Down Royal maidens and is also lightly-raced and open to improvement in just her second handicap. Juno Beach has been frustrating to follow but showed a bit more when sixth from a wide draw over C&D last time. He has the inside berth to start from this time but will need the breaks. No Speed Limit and Betrayed are closely matched on the basis of a clash over 6f a week ago. The former remains very hard to win with and three-time winner Betrayed, who has come down a lot in the ratings after being out of form this year, may have a bit more upside.

MAURA'S GIFT has improved since being stepped up in trip and fitted with headgear and may be able to get a first win on the board. She was runner-up to a progressive type at Killarney last month and was third over course and distance last time out. There was plenty of money around for longstanding maiden Early Strike when he was touched off over C&D a fortnight ago. That was just his second start for new connections and he has to come into calculations off a 2lb higher mark. Chateau Musar is a four-time winner at this venue and was just half a length behind Early Strike last time. That was his best run for quite a while and he has come back down to a competitive-looking mark, having won off a stone higher rating just 18 months ago.

It's a little over three years since ROCKVIEW ROMAN recorded back-to-back wins over the extended 10f at this venue and, although unable to add another victory, he has run plenty of good races in defeat since then. His turf form in three runs this autumn has been solid, including when third over this trip at Galway last time, and he should enjoy getting back on this surface. The well-bred Princess Wannabe made a good start in handicaps when fourth over a shorter trip here and gave the impression that she would appreciate going a bit further. Topweight Wajaaha outclassed rivals in a selling hurdle at Plumpton last time and his third to a rapidly improving rival at the Curragh last month was a solid run. He had placed form here earlier in his career and is tried in new headgear.

SOILSE showed improved form in handicaps at the back-end of the turf season, finishing runner-up in competitive contests at Leopardstown and the Curragh, and proved she could handle this surface when a close third in a C&D maiden last week. There was plenty of market support for her on that occasion and she may get her turn this time. Lizzy's Filly is marginally the highest-rated in the field and has been runner-up three times. She had Zawahir behind her over this trip at Killarney and holds Echoing on the form of her second to a wide-margin winner at the Curragh. She ran creditably on her only previous AW start and her trainer does well here. Selador has twice been runner-up over 1m2f and only gave best close home when fourth over that trip here last time. She looks worth a try back at a mile.

TAI SING YEH won three times for Johnny Levins earlier this year and added to that tally for present connections over C&D last month. The eight-year-old has held his form well since and there are grounds for believing he can reverse recent course places with the progressive Hodd's Girl. The selection was drawn wide on that occasion but still gained his customary prominent position and stall one should be a big help here. Hodd's Girl won off a mark of 57 at Naas in August and is now 27lb higher after two further wins at this venue. Dandyville also comes here in good form having scored over C&D last week, while Pulse Of Shanghai and Craft Irish are others to consider. The latter was probably unsuited by the very testing going at the Curragh last time.

ADAMARIS appreciated stepping up in distance when twice successful over C&D last winter and should progress from a seasonal reappearance here earlier this month. The selection was a shade keen in that 1m4f event but still finished a very creditable third and with the cobwebs shaken off and a step back up in trip, may prove the one to beat off a competitive mark. Gibraltar won twice over the summer at Leopardstown and Tramore and now takes a drop in class having finished just out of the places in the Cesarewitch. Joupe had a tough task from out of the handicap proper in the valuable Naas November Handicap but previously showed good stamina when winning at the Curragh. Boom Boom Boom won in fine style over 1m4f here earlier this month but was anchored subsequently by a 13lb hike. He tries this trip for the first time on the Flat.
