HALDON HILL posted a decent effort at Lingfield earlier this month, his first following wind surgery, and if Victor Dartnall's nine-year-old can take another step forward, he's attractively handicapped. Bert Wilson ran a promising race at Worcester on his reappearance and is more appealing than most on his fencing debut. Dunbar wasn't beaten far into third over two miles at this circuit and might appreciate the extra yardage.

Not a particularly daunting standard set by those with experience, and Sam Thomas' newcomer ED KEEPER could have their measure. A 35,000-euro purchase, his siblings have enjoyed success in France and the forecast slow ground should come as no problem to the Hunter's Light colt. Quick Sharpener showed up for a long way at Uttoxeter, while it's been a year since Broomfield Present struck on the last of four starts between the flags but he warrants consideration.

A return to a more galloping track could see recent Stratford runner-up MOONLIGHTER go one better. The nine-year-old was having his first start for Kim Bailey on that occasion and with a better round of jumping, he looks one to keep on side. Previous course winner New Age Dawning remains unexposed over fences having only had three starts and is worth a market check on his seasonal bow. File Illico ended last season in fine form, winning three of his last four appearances, and is another interesting contender.

Although PRESENTING JEREMY hasn't been seen for 18 months, he made a good impression on his only start under Rules when scoring easily at Worcester and looks to have plenty of scope for further improvement. Trelawne still appeared green when hanging on the run-in at Exeter in March and has been given time to mature since. Franco D'Aunou won on his only previous visit to this track when accounting for Champagnesuperover last year, and was denied by the narrowest of margins at Fontwell recently.

A wide-open contest in which a chance can be taken on STORM FORCE BEN, who was last seen finishing a distant third at Chepstow in February. He has been freshened up by a break and shades the vote at the main expense of Ring The Moon, who can improve from his seasonal debut now significantly up in trip. Hey Bud completes the shortlist.

BLUE CLOVER has shown promise in both her career starts and arrives following a creditable second at Chepstow. Jack Hogan keeps the partnership intact and Fergal O'Brien's filly is fancied to break through. The Venetia Williams-trained Ottoline is a big danger having recorded a respectable third on her racecourse bow at Warwick in February. Pure Theatre, who was just denied at Fakenham in April, has switched to the Anthony Honeyball team and can also give a good account.
