GYTO's Sunday Notebook Double pays 10/1.
Great to get the Notebook Double back to winning ways yesterday. I have two more confident selections on Sunday with the first being JUNGLE PROSE at Navan. This mare by Yeats has looked better than ever recently bringing up a hat-trick of wins impressively at Punchestown last time. The way she went clear in the closing stages suggested she had plenty in hand so no surprise to see the handicapper slam her with a 16lb rise.
I still think she might be ahead of her mark though despite having gone up well over two stone since her winning run started last month. She is quite a scopey sort so it doesn’t surprise me to see her as a warm order for this despite carrying almost 12 stone. Rebellious Gale was runner-up to the selection at Down Royal and off a 4lb higher mark is still massively better off so might give her most to think about once more. Lady Rita is another one with claims here.
I’m looking forward to seeing THE GALLOPING BEAR at Carlisle on Sunday. This horse was last seen slamming Bristol De Mai by seven lengths at Haydock back in February. That was a massive performance where only three of the 11 managed to finish the race. He is a relentless type with bags of stamina so while this step back in trip is a slight concern it should be an ideal test for him on reappearance to set him up for some bigger targets down the line.
He is obviously reverting to hurdles as well but gets to run off a lower mark of just 133 and he remains thoroughly unexposed. Silver Flyer is the danger according to the betting but I didn’t think he found a great deal when challenged late at Ayr last month. He will tighten up from that run but has been nudged up 3lb and while he should go well I think I want to take him on. Captain Zebo should come on for that Wetherby run and is feared as well.
