GYTO's Sunday Notebook Double pays 10/1.
It was hard to argue with that performance from IMPULSIVE ONE last month and the fact it came over C&D makes him a strong play here to follow up. That was his first start since a wind op and he really hit the line hard. The second Boombawn is a nice horse so the form should work out. He is 4lb higher here and against better horses but looks worth keeping on side in his current mood. First Impression didn’t shape badly at all when fourth at Cheltenham last month and will be one of the dangers if building on that down in grade here. Anyharminasking is still a horse I like as well and he just seemed to need the run when down the field at Ascot on return. If he strips fitter he should get competitive and is one to watch as the season goes on.
The good looking REWIRED opened his account at just the fourth attempt over hurdles and improved from his reappearance run at Plumpton to double his tally at Huntingdon last month. He showed a real likeable attitude to battle back and get up on the line and up just 2lb looks sure to go well again. The horse he beat Sergeant has been beaten again since but ran in a fiercely competitive race at Wincanton and wasn’t disgraced. Irish raider Mr Globalist was fifth over hurdles at Galway when last seen in October and would have to be considered a danger on handicap debut. He is just a 3yo so should have more to offer in time. Traprain Law caught the eye to some extent when runner-up over C&D in October but failed to build on that last time.
