Fenland Tiger is respected in his bid for a four-timer but he had a hard race last time out and looks opposable in this is a deeper contest. Preference is for BRANDY MCQUEEN, who has posted three solid efforts since his return to action in September and could be ready strike, despite now being on a career-high mark. Tyre Kicker has made good progress in Ireland and is also feared.

DIXON COVE impressed on debut for Paul Nicholls when she ran away with a juvenile hurdle at Hereford last month and, with a tongue-tie now applied, she may have plenty more to offer. Obsessedwithyou was also a comfortable winner on her racecourse bow at Wetherby and rates as a big danger to the selection. Isaline De Chandou was placed in a Grade 3 in France in September and is highly respected.

There is no denying how well Chantry House runs when fresh and the fact that he is returning from a break should not be enough to stop him from having a big say in proceedings. He was never involved in the Cheltenham Gold Cup when last seen but he should not be underestimated. However, AHOY SENOR beat some exceptionally smart types over this C&D in April and, although well beaten at Wetherby on his seasonal debut in October, he can bounce back today. Sam Brown was third in this last year and is another not to be overlooked.

A fiercely-competitive event with several interesting contenders, including Snow Leopardess who was a game winner of this race last year. However, she is now rated 6lb higher and has been pulled up on her last two starts, so it is easier to side with the Laura Morgan-trained PERCUSSION. He made a pleasing return to action when running on for third in the Grand Sefton last month and the fact that he is rated 3lb lower now can see him sneak closer into contention today. Fortescue is rated 2lb above his last winning mark and can also have a say in proceedings, along with last year's runner-up Hill Sixteen.

RIDERS ONTHE STORM beat a pair of subsequent winners in the Old Roan over course-and-distance last time out. A 2lb rise in the ratings would appear to be lenient and Richard Hobson's charge remains well treated on previous form. Clan Legend has landed the last two renewals of this contest, the latest from 3lb higher when beating Riders Onthe Storm, and he demands the utmost respect in his hat-trick bid. Others of interest include Gunsight Ridge, Empire Steel and Kiltealy Briggs.

Langer Dan made a pleasing reappearance in a warm contest last month and he can be expected to mount a serious challenge under top-weight, but preference is for SIZING POTTSIE. The son of Kapgarde made his name as a chaser but he's run to a high level over hurdles on both starts for the David Pipe team, and the return to further looks an added bonus this afternoon. Harbour Lake posted a creditable effort when third in the Greatwood last time and the unexposed six-year-old could have more to offer.
