GYTO's Tuesday Notebook Double pays 12/1.
14:55 Uttoxeter
Harry Skelton is riding out his skin at the moment and I bet he will be looking forward to getting the leg up on SHOLOKJACK at Uttoxeter on Tuesday. This son of Sholokhov remains thoroughly unexposed after just the three starts under Rules. He was two from three over hurdles last season but did fail to fire on final start at Kelso where he was disappointing.
He has undergone wind surgery since and still has plenty of potential now going chasing so I’m expecting a big run here. He won fresh last season so I have no concerns over his fitness and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him heavily punted. Cobblers Dream is a decent yardstick and he should improve on that chase debut second at Ascot. He seemed to need the run and was outpaced so will likely emerge as the danger.

I know SWINCOMBE FLEET only beat two rivals on chase debut at Warwick last month but it was hard not to be impressed with how she went clear before being eased down. That was over two and a half miles so she goes up in trip here. She is open to improvement and looks to have found a good race to try and follow up in. A 4lb rise isn’t too damaging and I think she’ll take a lot of beating.
Do You Think doesn’t always look the most straightforward but given the mistakes she made she did well to win at Hereford last time. She is 8lb higher which seems a bit harsh so that swung the pendulum back to the selection. Rose Of Arcadia impressed at Chepstow but wasn’t in the same form when last at Wincanton. She might still have more to come over fences though so also respected.
