GYTO's Wednesday Notebook Double pays 9/1.
Things didn’t go to plan for TWINJETS at Cheltenham but I’m confident he is a lot better than that and given the promise he showed in bumpers winning both starts he still has potential over hurdles. He has been given time since and I expect him to bounce back here. Hidden Beauty herself was disappointing at Uttoxeter last month and she also has a bit to prove off the back of that. I think the fact she is second favourite tells you about the lack of strength in depth here. Cuthbert Dibble showed ability finishing third in a bumper at Worcester and while he failed to back that up at Cheltenham he still retains potential now hurdling so is also noted. I’m struggling to see much else in here being good enough to land a blow. Vanity Affair won 3 times on the Flat but will likely do better for the experience.
With 2 wins from 4 starts since joining David O’Meara I still think there is more to come from BARENBOIM. His run style often requires a bit of luck and it far from went to plan when only midfield at Wolverhampton last time. He is off the same mark though and this track should suit him better in a smaller field. The way he hit the line at Chelmsford suggests he still has a bit in hand off this mark and I’m surprised he isn’t favourite. Junkanoo was finally back to winning ways over C&D last time staying on well and if backing that up off a 4lb rise will be the danger. He isn’t always the most consistent of individuals though so I wouldn’t want to take a short price. He’s A Latchico landed a hat-trick of wins earlier in the year but ran a stinker at Windsor on reappearance. Not seen since he has a bit to prove here.
